25.01.2022 Big news today - Deputy Premier Jackie Trad stands down over CCC probe!

24.01.2022 Another great result by Qlders! No new cases again and now only 3 active cases in the whole of the State. Politicians - its time to get out of the way and let people get back to work.

24.01.2022 Another great set of numbers today for QLD. No new cases again, only 6 active cases now in the state, 98.8% recovery rate and only 2 people on ventilators in the whole of Australia! But for many people this has been a bad week. How many have lost their job this week, or their business or their home? Come on Premier - get QLD open for business urgently! Its not about taking unnecessary risks - its about understanding how hard some people are struggling.

23.01.2022 Tuesday 12th May Covid19 update. 6 new cases today - but all are Qld residents that were diagnosed while in other states. Still only 18 active cases. Remember to keep up the social distancing everyone!

23.01.2022 This Anzac Day will be different - but we can still do our bit. 6am on our driveways. LEST WE FORGET

23.01.2022 Words fail me! While most people are struggling to get by, and QLD state debt is ballooning, our State MP's grab more cash for themselves. Im sorry but this is disgusting!

21.01.2022 Fathers Day spent sign constructing - when you are an INDEPENDENT candidate, not run by a huge political party that pays for everything, every day counts. Have a great day all the dads out there!

21.01.2022 Awesome pizza last night thanku. Super impressed you reduced the price when someone ordered a pizza without some of the usual toppings! I don't know anywhere else that does does that - in fact most places charge more as its a 'special'! love your work!

20.01.2022 Great to see both main parties announcing election spending promises for Redland Hospital in the last 24 hours. As I have been saying, its much needed and well over due! Now all we need to do is elect an Independent to make sure whichever party wins actually DELIVERS what they have promised! Lets no longer accept empty election promises. Its time for action. Vote 1 Paul Branagan - Independent for Capalaba

19.01.2022 Hopefully you will have received my launch flyer in your mail box by now, but if you haven't, please contact me and I will get one out to you. Only 39 days to go (you can already apply for postal vote applications), so please contact me if you need more info or would like to get involved in this community campaign for Capalaba. VOTE 1 - PAUL BRANAGAN - INDEPENDENT

19.01.2022 After more good numbers some further restriction easing has been announced as of noon today, including more people allowed in pubs/restaurants/cafes. While the borders remain closed we need to keep pressure on the govt to continue to ease restrictions on Qld businesses rather than stretching this out in the lead up to the election Gatherings of up to 20 people: homes public spaces and lagoons*... non-contact indoor and outdoor community sport* personal training gyms*, health clubs* and yoga studios* pools* (indoor and outdoor) and community sports clubs* museums*, art galleries* and historic sites* weddings parks, playground equipment, skate parks and outdoor gyms libraries* hiking, camping and other recreational activities in national and state parks places of worship* and religious and civil ceremonies *More people allowed with COVID Safe Plan approved by health authorities Queenslands outstanding response to the COVID-19 pandemic has allowed restrictions to be lifted ahead of a planned move to Stage Two originally scheduled for June 12. Please continue to practise good hygiene and 1.5m social distancing. If youre sick, get tested and stay home. More info at: http://bit.ly/Roadmap2ER See more

17.01.2022 Only 34 days to go till election day when together we can end the political squabbling and achieve a fairer go for Capalaba. Theres still time to get involved and make a difference - so to get a sign out the front of your place just give me a shout! Vote 1 PAUL BRANAGAN - INDEPENDENT FOR CAPALABA

16.01.2022 I have to agree with ToondahFriends about the lack of transparency around how Toondah came to be 'supersized' from 1000 units to 3600 units?? Perhaps our current Labor MP could explain how that came to be AFTER he was elected? For instance, a simple question - What additional benefits are we getting for the additional 2600 units? And why are the LNP so in favour of this too? It's time for more transparency in Government. It's time, as one voter put it to me today, ''to keep... the ba-----s honest!'' It's time to VOTE 1 PAUL BRANAGAN - INDEPENDENT See more

16.01.2022 Unfortunately 2 new Covid cases in Qld today. Both recently returned from Victoria and reported to have lied on their border-form to avoid quarantine. If that is true the police need to make sure they are prosecuted to the fullest extent. Time to increase the max penalty to further deter idiots??

15.01.2022 Federal govt has announced $25,000 grants to help build new homes, not just for 1st time buyers, OR to assist with renovations. (The renovations have to be substantial though with a high minimum spend that will rule out a lot of smaller renos.)

15.01.2022 All the sacrifices of Qlder's are paying off. But now is the time to ramp up efforts to get people back to work. We need dynamic leadership from the QLD govt. The sooner we ease restrictions the sooner we can start to lessen the mental health and wider health implications of the lockdown. We can do this without jeopardising safety given the extremely low incidence of community to community transmission.

15.01.2022 QLD Govt announces COVID19 lockdown changes: From Saturday, May 2, you can: - Go for a drive (within 50km of home) - Ride a motorbike, jetski or boat for recreation... - Have a picnic - Visit a national park - Shop for non-essential items Outings are limited to members of the same household or an individual and one friend. All rules regarding social gatherings and limits on visitors remain in place. We will closely watch the numbers of new infections and review the measures after two weeks. See more

14.01.2022 Good news for all those home schooling! QLD Schools will reopen for ALL students Monday May 25th! More good news is that Straddie and Moreton Islands are back open to visitors from this weekend - as long as they are within 150km of your home. Today saw 2 new Corona cases in Qld with active cases still at only 17. Please do all you can to help those currently out of work get back into work by washing your hands, keeping up social distancing and by downloading the app.

14.01.2022 Shooting -Alexandra Hills Detectives have declared a crime scene following the shooting of a man at Alexandra Hills. Around 5.15pm, police were called to an address in Cambridge Drive to reports a 24-year-old man had been shot.... The man was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition. Two men were confronted by an off-duty police officer a short time later in Wellington point, where one man was detained, and a firearm was located. The second man fled on foot and he was tracked by dog squad to a nearby property, where he was located hiding in a house. Investigations are continuing. Detectives are urging anyone who has any information about the incident or who was in the vicinity and has dashcam footage to contact police.

13.01.2022 As we look to urgently restart the economy, some restriction easing is set to be announced on Friday at National Cabinet - but here's a small start before that - beginning on Sunday - Mothers Day. And remember - wash your hands and please download the app! Lets continue crushing the curve. Qld rocks!

13.01.2022 Remembering Daniel and supporting the foundation today and always. Are you going to vote for someone that supports the immediate setting up of a register of convicted child sex offenders in Qld? Or are you going to vote for the current MP who voted against this in Parliament?! VOTE 1 PAUL BRANAGAN INDEPENDENT

13.01.2022 No new cases of any kind again for QLD today. Another great result achieved by QLD and, while it has taken too long, at last the Premier has announced some further easing of restrictions within QLD from this Friday! (Some easing of border restrictions are also being announced right now...) Go QLD!

12.01.2022 Today is your last chance to vote for change. So please VOTE 1 PAUL BRANAGAN INDEPENDENT for more local jobs and the upgrade to our infrastructure we so badly need. I look forward to seeing you at the polls!

10.01.2022 1 new Covid19 case today in Qld, only 7 active cases in the state and 98.7% of QLD cases have now recovered. Its good news and regardless of what you think on open borders vs closed borders - we HAVE to get QLDers back to work and quickly. This picture is of the Marina Mirage Shopping Centre on the Gold Coast today at 11am. All those closed shops represent QLDers that are doing it tough. We need the Premier to get QLD back to work!

10.01.2022 With many challenges facing us all currently, I have been asked by members of the local community to stand as an Independent for Capalaba in the upcoming Qld State Election. With respect for many Australian political parties at an all-time low, a fresh approach is needed. One focused on respecting all voters and achieving for Capalaba the investment it needs. I am not a career politician, but as a father, a husband and a member of the small business community I appreciate e...xactly what is required and have the experience to help make it happen. And with a close election expected, an INDEPENDENT voice in Parliament will allow us to move away from the constant social media blame game and ensure that locally we get the funding we need to improve roads, the hospital, the misery rail line and at last deliver the long promised Eastern Busway. A lot of money will be spent in the post-covid months and we need to ensure that locally we get our fair share to improve infrastructure and create jobs. So, if you live in Alex Hills, Birkdale, Capalaba, Thorneside or the Wello part of the electorate, I would love to get your support - and of course your vote come October! In particular we are looking for as many sign sites as possible throughout the area so please contact me if you would be happy for us to put a small election sign at the front of your property, or even on your trailer. Please share this page on FB to your friends too. Together we can make a difference! Thanks in advance for any support you can offer. Capalaba Deserves Better! 09.01.2022 Thursday's Covid numbers for QLD: 0 new cases! Keep washing your hands and download the app people!

09.01.2022 With crushing economic data out yesterday suggesting we are heading to 10% unemployment, and both major parties pledging to spend huge sums on infrastructure in the coming years, now is the time to elect an INDEPENDENT committed to ensuring some of that money is spent here locally. Otherwise we will be seeing 'Fast Rail' on the sunshine coast before we even get a duplicated line! Vote 1 - Paul Branagan - Independent for Capalaba

08.01.2022 While drinking great coffee at Thorneside's Unico Café and enjoying this view I was thinking how tough these small businesses are doing it. So with more good numbers out of QLD today (0 new cases, just 2 active cases and no community transmission since May) and while wanting to stay out of the ALP/LNP borders closed/borders open political point scoring, surely it has to be time to ease restrictions and get businesses back to work within QLD more quickly? For those Redlands... businesses that are struggling the 2nd round of Small Business Covid19 Adaption Grants opens on weds. So now is the time to get your application prepared for up to $10k In funding. Round 1 was over subscribed and its first come first served. Redlands businesses deserve their share. Small Business COVID-19 Adaption Grant Program https://www.business.qld.gov.au//advice-s/grants/adaption

07.01.2022 Postal vote applications open today. Anyone can apply. See the link or PM me if you have any questions. Its time to put this area at the top of the agenda. Vote 1 - Paul Branagan INDEPENDENT

06.01.2022 Really encouraging numbers again for Qld today. Premier, you have thankfully eased the funeral restrictions, now lets celebrate Mens Health Week by helping more of them get back into work by easing other restrictions too. QLD can not afford to get left behind.

05.01.2022 31st October is your last chance to make a REAL difference for the next 4 years! Your last chance to make sure Capalaba actually gets what it deserves: * MORE LOCAL JOBS * INFRASTRUCTURE SPENDING TO CUT CONGESTION... * AIR CONDITIONING FOR YOUR KIDS THAT ACTUALLY WORKS! * A DAM WITH ACTUAL GATES!! * A REAL SAY ON TOONDAH HARBOUR Only an INDEPENDENT will deliver for voters and not be dictated to by a political party boss. Don’t look back in 4 years and think ‘why did the hospital upgrade promise not happen?’ No more undelivered pre-election promises. ITS TIME FOR ACTION IT’S TIME TO VOTE 1 PAUL BRANAGAN INDEPENDENT

05.01.2022 This is exactly why we need Ultra-Fast Dark Fibre internet access for Capalaba businesses. Even the NBN are now accepting they need to upgrade their service but that will take years (and $billions!). We can do it here in Capalaba far more quickly, for far less $ and give our businesses the edge they deserve to grow the local jobs our community needs. Only an INDEPENDENT will deliver this. VOTE 1 PAUL BRANAGAN - INDEPENDENT for CAPALABA

04.01.2022 Zero new cases today so still consistently good Covid numbers here in Qld. Whether you think we should or should not be opening the borders sooner than September - we certainly should be doing more to speed up the opening of Qld businesses. Too many small businesses are suffering while Qld has only 4 people in hospital with Covid. But its ok because our Premier gets to be in front of the cameras every day in an election year, Brisbane Councillors have bought themselves $80,000 worth of new laptops so they can do skype calls and the QLD govt thinks prisoners deserve early release so that Covid doesn't inconvenience their trip home!

04.01.2022 Today is R U OK DAY? Now more than ever during these tough times we need to be asking the question, not just today but every day.

03.01.2022 Covid19 numbers for Qld for today (Tuesday).

03.01.2022 More good numbers! To be followed by some gradual relaxing of restrictions by national cabinet later today. Hopefully the Qld Govt does not drag its feet too much on implementing these. We need to get the economy safely back to work asap.

03.01.2022 As we head into Queensland Day tomorrow make sure you celebrate another day of no new Covid cases, by getting out and supporting local businesses. You don't need to drive to a regional town to do that - just stroll along to your local café/pub/bakery/fish shop or whatever. These places are still doing it tough. Buy local. Support local.

02.01.2022 Its time Qld had a sex offenders register which enables parents/guardians to no longer be kept in the dark about which monsters may live in their street! Time to put the rights of kids before those of these scum.

01.01.2022 Prepoll is open till 9pm tonight at 26 Redland Bay Road, Capalaba so come on down to say hi and have your say. VOTE 1 PAUL BRANAGAN INDEPENDENT and at last lets get the action Capalaba deserves!

01.01.2022 When we know that 28% of child sex offenders convicted of Federal offences do not spend 1 day in jail, this is the time to put the safety of our kids first. Those Senators that blocked this bill as some sort of political game should hang their heads in shame. No wonder ordinary people are losing faith in our politicians!

01.01.2022 No new cases again overnight in QLD. The Chief Health Officer has determined its safe to ease restrictions in South East Queensland from tomorrow. Gatherings of up to 30 people will be allowed in peoples homes and outdoors, and more visitors will be allowed into hospitals and aged care homes.
