13.01.2022 Redland City Council is advising residents that swimming at Thompsons Beach, Victoria Point from today is not recommended, after routine sampling revealed eleva...ted levels of bacteria. Council has temporarily closed the beach and erected no swimming signs at the recreational water site and will undertake ongoing sampling. Enterococci bacteria are often found in waterways in low levels, with increases in levels likely to occur particularly after rain and weather events. Once Thompsons Beach is again suitable for swimming, signage will be removed and further notification will be provided. See more
