25.01.2022 Some great performances at yesterdays Spring Carnival in Bundaberg. It was hot and windy during the day and as always when the sun dropped below the horizon so did the temperature. Well done to all our athletes on a great effort for supporting this carnival and to the many other athletes who also competed. Special mention goes out to Haley who two years ago was awarded our Spirit Award at our club carnival. Hayley was that determined little girl that did her longer events in... her special wheelchair. Well last night she ran not just the 400m but also the 800m...that's what kids sport is all about. If you have some pics of your kids competing or wearing medals please share them to us.

19.01.2022 Congratulations Jimboomba on your carnival yesterday. It seems a few Redlands athletes made their way out to compete and from the looks of these pics had a great day also. Club carnivals are not only an important fundraiser for clubs they also provide an opportunity to compete against other athletes and catch up with your friends in friendly competition.

Six years later and after having completed her time with Little Athletics and more so with our club we farewell one of most respected & trusted athletes. Jess has left our shores to embark on the next stage of her life having been accepted on a track and field scholarship at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. studying for a BSc in Health and Human Performance. In her sh...ort time with our club Jess has achieved so much with many club titles, regional titles, state titles having been achieved. Jess was also a part of our very successful coaching program teaching our next generation athlete. On behalf of the Committee of Management, members and athletes of Redlands Athletics we wish Jess and her family all the very best in the years before her and watch with anticipation. 06.01.2022 Exciting news to announce. Through the generous support of Coles we have been successful in receiving the necessary funding support to have the eastern long jump runway resurfaced. As a club this will allow for greater flexibility in our program as our athletes will be able to use either pit. It also means our athletes are not as prone to injury from a hard concrete surface. Very shortly we will be conducting a working bee to help prepare the runway for the resurfacing, we... will be calling for volunteers to come down and help us undertake this task. This is your club and this is your opportunity to give back. Once again on behalf of Redlands we would like to thank very much the wonderful support of Coles to grass roots sports and in particular Little Athletics.

05.01.2022 Another one of our athletes at Jimboomba on Sunday, Hervey this time competing in what I have been told was very hot indeed.

05.01.2022 A big thank you to the many athletes who attended our cross country event today at Capalaba. The rain held off and despite a few late course changes the overall feedback was positive. A bit of mud here, some sand there, uphill downhill and a few pinches all made for a great experience. A massive thank you to Greg and the team at Qld Athletics for your support in managing registrations and officials for the start line and check in. Certainly made the day easier.... To those club members who helped today be it at the clubhouse early this morning to load up the trailer, course setup, on course marshalling and finally packing up before returning to the club house to unpack.....a big thank you to you all. Without your support, today would not have been possible.

04.01.2022 Wonderful day in Bundaberg, just ask Georgia...

01.01.2022 2020 Bundaberg Spring Carnival Event Summary - Team Redlands This post is based on preliminary results (may change) slightly) and treating all age groups equally in terms of placing's to medals. I say this as our U7-U8 athletes received participation medals and not individual place medals.... As always in Bundaberg athletes, parents, officials and supporters were treated to a hot windy day followed by a very cool evening session that required jumpers and long pants. I would like firstly to pass on may sincere thanks to those parents of our athletes who took the time and opportunity to go out to field events and help out. There were many times where parent help was lacking so thank you for supporting the carnival and the many officials who were out there all day providing all athletes with the opportunity to compete. Team Redlands had 12 athletes compete this year in Bundaberg on Saturday. I am both pleased and proud to say all 12 athletes came away with at least one top 3 placing. Well done to you all. Our club took away 14 x 1st Place / Gold Medals, 5 x 2nd Place / Silver Medals and 8 x 3rd Place / Bronze Medals. Our Walkers again performed strongly taking home 4 Gold and a Silver. Our Sprinters took home 3 Gold, 2 Silver & 3 Bronze. Our Hurdlers took home 2 Gold. Our Distance runners amassed 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze Jumps athletes returned 1 Gold and 1 Bronze Throws athletes returned 3 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze. A great spread of results. Notable individual results were: Sam U8 Boys with 4 x First Placings Georgia (U9 Girls) with 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze Anika (U16 Girls) with 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze and a 4th. Well done everyone on the day and thank you to the parents for giving your child the opportunity to compete in a different event and explore a nice part of QLD at the same time.

01.01.2022 We are getting organised for our club carnival in January and would like to open the opportunity to any person who would like to learn more about Race Walk judging and get some practical experience by standing along side an experienced judge to learn more. If you are interested in learning more club carnivals along with a mentor is the ideal place. Please email us at [email protected] to register.

01.01.2022 Four events, four wins for Sam (pictured left) in the U8 Boys LJ, 60mH, 70m & 100m events. Also pictured is Hayden (pictured right) who performed equally as well with 4 top 10 finishes in all his events also being LJ, 70m, 100m & 60mH. Well done both boys.
