14.01.2022 Family on and off the Field! With no play this weekend due to the Brisbane COVID-19 lock down we take a look back to some of our achievements off the field in recent years. Tigers players young and old and even their kids have trained, competed and completed hikes for charity including multiple Kokoda 15 and 30 km hikes.... The training grounds were often Mount Coot-tha and sometimes Mount Gravatt and whilst the training was often challenging the reward was time spent with mates, strengthening bonds with discussions about life and support and motivation when the pain and fatigue would set in. This bond is more than mateship it is family and it is priceless. #onetribe #onefamily #oneclub #tigersforlife

06.01.2022 Ray Bubke - 48th Season for Tigers Ray ‘Razz’ Bubke signs on for his 48th season for Redlands Tigers Cricket Club formerly known as Eastern Suburbs District Cricket Club. The Bubke family name is iconic within Grade cricket in Brisbane and is royalty at Tigerland. ... The Bubke family was instrumental in cricket success at Bottomley Park in the decades prior to 1995 both on and off the field with father Cec, mother Betty and sons Ray and Greg all contributing heavily. The family is best known for their hospitality and welcomed players from not only ESDCC (Tigers) but also visiting teams to stay for a good night after cricket in the clubhouse that earned the name the ‘Crab Pot’ as once you were in you weren’t getting out! The Bubke family remained heavily involved when the club moved to the Redlands with Razz continuing to play; twenty five years later Razz is set to white up for his 48th season. Now to any young bloke who might see Razz playing in the over 40’s this year you may be forgiven for thinking he is just an old cricketer. Razz Bubke’s statistics speak for themselves and prove that he is one of Tiger’s best! Razz Bubke made his First Grade debut in 1984 - cap number 491. Razz is the highest run scorer for Tigers with 7880 Grade runs at an average of 26.89. His innings include 8x 100’s and 34x 50’s; his highest being 171* in second grade. He also holds the Tigers club record for the fastest 100 scored off just 45 balls achieving this in fourth grade in 98/99 a score that has only ever been frightened once by Craig Cullen when he scored 100 from 46 balls in threes. Razz has also been better than handy as a bowler claiming 251 Grade wickets at 19.98 with his best being 6/40. Razz is a true all round talent and all young cricketers should aspire to be like Razz.
