22.01.2022 Ice is the hardest drug addiction that Ive had to help kids get off and rehabilitate what they have lost. They certainly lose allot, some dont get what they have lost back. Its blown me away as a coach to see kids brought down in their prime and their families absolutely torn apart from this unforgiving drug. The loss of motor skills, reaction time, reflexes, speech are common traits that Ice unrelentingly steals from the user. ... I had a lad that couldnt even bounce a ball last year and it took 8 months for him to remaster it without mistake, such a simple task that I have 10 year old kids achieve in no time. I went to a tournament a few weeks ago in Townsville and I was talking to some other coaches and they all said its all to a common scene in their gyms too. 2 years ago I wasnt seeing what Im seeing and dealing with now in my gym with youth drug use and the other coaches mirrored my thoughts... ice use is high through Ingham, Townsville and the Burekin they were telling me destroying their towns. Whilst its good to help youth rehabilitate its certainly not enjoyable coaching and seeing kids paying a huge price for their own stupid mistake and see their families torn apart defenceless to this terrible, terrible drug...
