BUT if you make a booking at Red Onion, and confirm it with a deposit, before the 28th February, we will donate $450 to the Falls Creek Fire Brigade, for each of those bookings. 20.01.2022 Wonderful news that country Victoria is moving out of high level restrictions and that people can start to move around regional Victoria again. Thank you to everyone in Victoria for putting up with so much, in order to help the whole of Australia to eventually return to a more normal life and start to re-build and re-plan for the future. A drive through the high country in the "green season", should be on everyone's bucket list. Don't forget to stop in to Falls Creek... stay a night or two, enjoy the great food, drinks and hospitality on offer, and explore the surrounds on foot, or two wheels. Locals and businesses have done it tough this year... let's give them our support. Bring on the next level of easing!

20.01.2022 What a year this has been for all of us. If you have been wondering if it is safe to book a winter holiday for 2021, we are feeling optimistic. We are offering an early bird rebate of $450 off any 7-night stay booked, and secured with a deposit paid by the 29th January. All our rates remain the same as in 2020.... We also want to assure you, that if, for any reason, as happened this year, Red Onion is not able to provide your accommodation as set out in our terms and conditions, we will again provide an unconditional refund of all monies paid. 19.01.2022 Today would have been what we call a blue-bird day! Thank you to Falls Creek Ski Lifts for their cameras so we can still look and dream. This extraordinary time will end, and we look forward to welcoming guests at Red Onion then.

We, at Red Onion, are looking forward to hosting many returning guests this winter, and thank them all for hanging in there with us over the past year. One we won't soon forget! 09.01.2022 This was Red Onion when we had to leave last Friday January 3rd! Today, the fire danger has passed, Falls Creek has been untouched, and the resort will re-open for business on Monday the 13th of January. Think of a reason to come up to the beautiful High Country for a visit. Businesses in Falls Creek will have suffered greatly from 12 days of shut out during the peak time of summer! We are going back!

06.01.2022 This little Flame Robin is early... he obviously doesn't want to miss out on Red Onion's early-bird deal. Family gatherings during these holidays... now that we can all get together... are a great time to plan your next family reunion for a snow holiday in Falls Creek. Red Onion is ideal for two families or groups up to 10 adults... way more room than an apartment.... 05.01.2022 The fires are out, and it's pretty wet, but firefighters always need more help with up-to-date equipment. Red Onion is proud to be able to donate $900 to the Falls Creek Fire Brigade, following our recent promotion. Thank you, as always, to the guests who support us, and particularly to the guests who booked in February.

The alps are a great place to regenerate and rejuvenate after being shut away for so long, and excellent regional businesses are just holding on, after a tough summer/winter, and would love your support. There is so much to do... fill your days with hiking, walking, riding, mountain-biking, cycling, sailing, swimming etc. or just r...elaxing, and come home to great restaurants, bars and a range of places to stay. Fall for Falls in the summer... we did... 45 years ago.

04.01.2022 The door to Red Onion is closed right now... but we really hope that won't be for too much longer (but who knows?). In the meantime we thought you may like to admire the amazing stone work done for us by the local stone mason, John Walton. His work is meticulous and beautiful. Stones around those arched windows and door wouldn't have been easy. We hope you are all well, and coming up with creative ways to keep yourself occupied and sane in these strange times.

02.01.2022 Dear friends, sadly, we are announcing today that Red Onion will not open for winter 2020. After many decades of offering winter accommodation at Falls Creek, we have certainly never experienced a situation such as we do today. But... there is a first time for everything. We do not feel that given the current circumstances we can provide the type of holiday at our ‘home in the snow' that we would like and that our guests have come to enjoy over many years.... We thank our guests for being so graciously understanding and supportive of our decision to remain closed this year, and most have accepted our offer to transfer current bookings to season 2021. We’ll share an update shortly on how you can book in early for 2021. In the meantime enjoy this magical photo of Red Onion taken by our neighbour on the 3rd of May!
