23.01.2022 RedRock Studios Customers: After seeking advice from various government agencies we are open for business, We will be strictly abiding by social distancing measures which is 4sqm per person. This means no more than 5 people in studios 2,3 and 4 and a maximum of 7 people in Studio 1. Rehearsing and recording is classified as work and has not been identified as non-essential so we will be open for business like many other businesses in Australia trying to survive. Hope to see some of you soon

11.01.2022 BREAKING: Council is scrapping the need submit a development application to hold live music, artistic and cultural events in shopfronts, offices and industrial ...premises, making thousands of new spaces available at low cost for artists to perform, practice and exhibit their work. We are the first Council in NSW to do this, I hope others get on board too. These new simple set of rules will allow local musicians, performers and visual artists to hold live performances and exhibitions as ‘exempt development’ with an audience of up to 150 people in industrial premises and 80 people in properties in local centres (based around main streets). This will mean that artists can simply pitch to the owner of a warehouse, book store or office block to make use of their premises after dark or on weekends, when the property would be sitting empty and unused. No costly DA will be necessary so landlords will have an incentive to make some extra cash and artists will have a plethora of potential local properties to make use of for their work. Our Local Labor team took this policy to the last election and we’ve fought hard to overcome hurdles and to make it happen. The policy requires final gazettal from the NSW Government which we are waiting for expectantly and impatiently. Over to you Planning Minister Rob Stokes you are invited to the first legal warehouse gig in Marrickville once you’ve signed this into law.

11.01.2022 Welcome back RedRock Customers, We are open with some restrictions in place. Maximum number of people in a studio is 5 with 8 allowed in Studio 1. Hand sanitiser in every room and masks are available. We ask all customers to manage their own distance while in the studio and to not congregate outside or in foyer. We will be staggering starting times to limit interaction and keeping common surfaces clean.
