24.01.2022 People with a diagnosis of mental illness are at a much higher rish of physical disease such as diabetes, lung disease, cancer and heart disease. This can come from things like medications and higher rates of smoking and alcohol use as treatments. In Australia, this has contributed to a large life expectancy gap between those with severe mental ill health. One study estimated this gap at 16.4 years for men with a severe mental health diagnosis. Others have suggested that there could be up to a 30% reduction in total life expectancy - thats over 20 years! To donate: https://www.thepushupchallenge.com.au/pushuperer/27824

This is based on the 2.20 million Australians that have been affected by domestic violence by an intimate partner. ... Domestic violence contributes to more illness, disability and deaths than any other risk factor for women aged between 18 - 44yrs. If you, or someone you know needs assistance for intimate domestic violence, please call 1800RESPECT P.S photo is for posting purposes only!

19.01.2022 15mins of bright sunlight each morning could reduce levels of mental distress, that equals 105 minutes of sunshine per week! There are a lot of factors that could be at work here to make sunshine a mood booster, including the effects on your circadian rhythm, Vit D, or just being outside. Getting into nature for a few hours per week can also help your mental health. Any last minute donations, click here: https://thepushupchallenge.com.au/pushuperer/27824

18.01.2022 For some reason Facebook wouldn't load today's video, but check it out on Insta! Approximately 20.1% of Australians are living with mental ill health - thats 1/5! And almost half of us (45%) will experience mental ill health at some point of our lives. However, less than half the people who suffer with metal ill health will recieve professional care. Click here to donate: https://thepushupchallenge.com.au/27824... I also want to say a quick thank you to everyone that is following this journey and for the messages and donations so far - massively appreciated!

18.01.2022 Today's 183 is based on the people living in areas of the greatest socioeconomic disadvantage that are twice as likely to be experiencing psychological distress compared to those in high socioeconomic areas - 18.3% vs. 9.0%. Some factors include: financial distress, housing insecurity, higher rates of physical ill health, poorer access to mental health services and greater exposure to crime, incarceration and violence. Around 25% of Australians who report having a mental health condition have experienced homelessness.

18.01.2022 Lets take care of our mental health and keep moving through isolation. PT sessions are still a go ahead. Outdoor sessions in Winter are the best for a clear head and feeling refreshed!
