21.01.2022 Congratulations to Native American, Louise Erdrich on winning a Pulitzer. File this under things I wish I’d written: Life will break you. Nobody can protect yo...u from that, and living alone won't either, for solitude will also break you with its yearning. You have to love. You have to feel. It is the reason you are here on earth. You are here to risk your heart. You are here to be swallowed up. And when it happens that you are broken, or betrayed, or left, or hurt, or death brushes near, let yourself sit by an apple tree and listen to the apples falling all around you in heaps, wasting their sweetness. Tell yourself you tasted as many as you could. Louise Erdrich, The Painted Drum LP Thank you Amy Massingale!

19.01.2022 Sometimes I dream about the sea. For past 6 years every summer I spent in wonderland of Greenland. We bring two boats with red sails and organize most beautiful... photography cruises among icebergs, tiny colorful Inuit villages under the midnight sun. This idea started long ago, when I wished to show the scale of massive ice towers of Greenland, it's ice castles and arches. And idea of scarlet sails is actually lays even deeper beyond that. It lays in a book named "Crimson sails". Crimson Sails is a classic adventure tale of love and hope in the beauty of one's dreams. It was written by Russian writer Alexander Grin. Later the idea of a huge annual festival in Saint Petersburg was based on this novel. "Scarlet Sails" is an annual citywide celebration in honour of school graduates in Saint Petersburg, a unique international event. Please watch collection of my images from various years of my most favorite ever photography workshop: See more

18.01.2022 The famous Italian diver Enzo Mallorca dove into the sea of Syracuse and was talking to his daughter Rossana who was aboard the boat. Ready to go in, he felt... something slightly hit his back. He turned and saw a dolphin. Then he realized that the dolphin did not want to play but to express something. The animal dove and Enzo followed. At a depth of about 12 meters, trapped in an abandoned net, there was another dolphin. Enzo quickly asked his daughter to grab the diving knives. Soon, the two of them managed to free the dolphin, which, at the end of the ordeal, emerged, issued an "almost human cry" (describes Enzo). (A dolphin can stay under water for up to 10 minutes, then it drowns.) The released dolphin was helped to the surface by Enzo, Rosana and the other dolphin. That’s when the surprise came: she was pregnant! The male circled them, and then stopped in front of Enzo, touched his cheek (like a kiss), in a gesture of gratitude and then they both swam off. Enzo Mallorca ended his speech by saying: Until man learns to respect and speak to the animal world, he can never know his true role on Earth." ~ Vangelis.

12.01.2022 A wise teacher recently said in a yoga class something that truly inspired and touched my heart cause that’s how I have danced my whole life. She said Yoga is...n’t about the asanas you do but what you learn about yourself on the process of getting there. And that’s what dance always has been for me. A place of comfort and discomfort, a home of growth. Forever grateful Bryan Jeremias Llaneza #photography #photoshoot #ballerina #dancer #passion

05.01.2022 L'instant... See more

04.01.2022 Mars moves into Gemini today and it’s the perfect time to bring awareness to your throat chakra. The throat chakra is our communication center and can help us e...xpress ourselves, connect with our truth, and share our wisdom with the world. Blockages in this area can manifest as feeling tongue-tied, a fear of speaking up, and censoring what we really think and feel. Releasing blockages in this area can be liberating and can help us to become more mindful communicators. While you can always do this work, the current cosmic energies are throwing a little more support our way right now. Speak your truth, but do so with kindness, mindfulness, and integrity #throatchakra #astrology #cosmicenergy

02.01.2022 Good evening star gazers, hope you are well! When I first got into Astro photography about 6 years ago I was instantly addicted to trying to capture the magical... marvel that is the Milky Way. Shooting in dark skies requires shooting at a high ISO setting to bring out details that aren't visible to the naked eye. The downside of boosting ISO is it makes your images noisy (ie grainy) the higher the ISO the grainier it gets! Like sandpaper grainy I hate noise in my images so eventually I stopped shooting the night skies. Nearly 2 years ago I added Nikon gear to my Canon set up as Nikon sensors appeared to deal with noise better. Last week I decided I better get out for my annual token Milky Way shot before it disappears from the southern skies for a couple of months. So my good buddy Gav from Gavin Connolly Photography and I headed to Wyaralong Dam to capture the Milky Way setting in the west above the well known trees. It's still a noisy and crude image. This single frame is an insult to those photographers that specialise in Astro with their trackers, stacked images and dark frames who produce amazing images! Sometimes for me it's less about the image and more about the journey and sharing experiences with like minded people. Being out in the middle of nowhere in the complete darkness standing under the night sky never fails to bring human existence into perspective. The Milky Way Galaxy is made up of 100 billion stars, if you think that is hard to comprehend there are 100 billion galaxies in the universe as we know it, that's a lot of stars! No matter what you're going through in life think about how fortunate we all are to have ended up on the only planet that we know of that holds human life, make the most of your time here, make a difference, make it count, it's your time to shine! 02.01.2022 The umbilical cord contains 3 vessels. ... There are two arteries and one vein. A lot of people think it’s basically just a tube of sorts transporting nutrients to their baby. But, it’s so much more intricately designed than that! The vein carries oxygenated and nutrient-rich blood to your baby, and the arteries carry the deoxygenated blood, waste products (such as carbon dioxide), and nutrient-depleted blood through the placenta and into your bloodstream to dispose of. After delivery, these vessels close by themselves. The arteries close first due to their muscular walls. The umbilical vein follows closely behind, allowing oxygenated blood to return to your baby from the placenta. At birth, the placenta contains 1/3 of your baby’s blood volume. By delaying cord clamping for several minutes, you are allowing that blood to be transferred to your baby where it belongs via the umbilical vein.
