25.01.2022 May your full moon be fruitful

25.01.2022 ...give us the courage to change what must be altered, serenity to accept what cannot be changed, and the insight to know one from the other. ~original version of the serenity prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr (minus the Father bit at start to allow for other interpretations of divinity) ~artwork by female artist Meinrad Craighead~ Wisdom

25.01.2022 Often women come to our circles and wonder why we call it the Red Tent? Below is a passage from the 2007 book The Red Tent by Anita Diamant that sparked a worldwide phenomenon of women longing for a space just for them ~ to laugh and grieve together, to truly hear one another and learn from one another. Now, there are Red Tent circles springing up all over the globe. While we may not birth babies in the tent, or go there specifically to bleed, we meet once a month close to th...e dark moon to remember and revive this way of connection; to tell our stories and to be witnessed. Women of all ages and stages of life are welcome. Next circle happening on December 13th. And now to the passage from the book... The great mother whom we call Innana gave a gift to woman that is not known among men, and this is the secret of blood. The flow at the dark of the moon, the healing blood of the moon’s birth - to men, this is flux and distemper, bother and pain. They imagine we suffer and consider themselves lucky. We do not disabuse them. In the red tent, the truth is known. In the red tent, where days pass like a gentle stream, as the gift of Innana courses through us, cleansing the body of last month’s death, preparing the body to receive the new month’s life, women give thanks for repose and restoration, for the knowledge that life comes from between our legs, and that life costs blood. ~ Anita Diamant, The Red Tent

20.01.2022 The time has come. For reclaiming our heritage, and changing paradigms, and challenging the status quo. The time has come for picking up those long-forgotten threads, Sisters. The time has come for weaving the circle.

19.01.2022 Women...this coming Sunday evening, you are invited to join other women and sit in sacred space together Tickets limited and available at: www.goddesstemplebellingen.org $10, for an evening of magic that sisterhood always creates!

18.01.2022 This is a step in the right direction but reports say it's still a widespread procedure and that outlawing it may only drive it further underground... We are starting to donate a percentage of the offerings from each Red Tent Circle to causes like this one. The September Red Tent will donate to TreeSisters and the October circle will donate to an organisation that is working on educating and spreading the word about this horrific mutilation that happens to millions of girls and women every year, some as early as age 8 -9 from what reports say.

18.01.2022 Bring a crystal you resonate with to Sundays new moon circle AND if its raining bring cushions/sheepskin etc to sit on inside

11.01.2022 Our ground is precisely where we find ourselves each morning when we wake; it is a place of genesis, of sparking to life over and over again, despite it's apparent flaws, the cracks in the pristine glaze of our grandest plans and greatest obsessions. Here, with our bare feet firm on the ground, we embody our inner altar regardless of where our story has taken us. We understand that whatever wounds have scarred our skin, whatever agonies have brought us here to this fateful incarnation, we are eternally whole. We are unruined. We are precisely who we need to be, precisely who we have always been. ~Danielle Dulsky in "The Holy Wild. A Heathen Bible for the Untamed Woman" ~Art by Kat Shaw

10.01.2022 Translated excerpt of an old Gaelic (Scottish) poem written by Catherine MacCauley, a travelling woman who would write and sing songs, incantations and hymns for people in the 1700's. Likely written for a maiden preparing for marriage and used as such but also recited to children and young men too. Original hymn was a blend of Christian and older traditional Scottish lore. If you had ancestors in Scotland it's likely they may have heard or recited this poem as it's thought to be widely known and recited for over a century. The first known time fragments of it was written down was in the late 1800's. We’ll be singing this together at our next circle, in celebration of one another
