17.01.2022 It feels so awkward when the chicken I'm cooking is given a name, such as. "RSPCA Approved". It seems so official and impersonal. Couldn't she have been "Sharon"? or "Kayla"? or even "Sharon Approved" or Kayla Certified"? One moment, I just have to go and check on them as they simmer. I feel obligated. Okay, Sharon and Kayla are off the grill and cooling in preparation for tomorrow's lunch boxes, but the eggs are still cooking and now I feel bad. And t...here's living proof as well. Kids that were born into destitution are now educated, employed and are child sponsors themselves within their own communities. That's the big thing. This is not Westerners imposing ideas or forcing solutions and it's not just funnelling money. it's about each individual and his/her community forging their own direction and maintaining their own integrity, culture and identity. That's why it works. It's different from others in the same game and we're guessing it's why this organisation was the only one willing to put it on the line.
