In the early 1960s, REED pioneered specialist recruitment services, a move which fundamentally changed the recruitment market. This year is also the 10th anniversary of REED in Australia. Keep your eyes peeled here for all sorts of anniversary surprises we have coming up.

06.01.2022 Today is the birthday of the World Health Organization and the day which is celebrated as World Health Day. This year the day focuses on diabetes, which impacts millions of people globally each year. Around 1.7 million Australians have diabetes, and 280 Australians develop diabetes every day. That’s one person every five minutes. It is estimated that 422 million adults worldwide have diabetes and the figures are on the rise. As described by the World Health Organization, di...abetes is a chronic, metabolic disease characterized by elevated levels of blood glucose which may over time lead to serious damage to the heart, blood vessels, eyes, kidneys, and nerves. It is one of the leading causes of death around the world and for people living with diabetes, access to affordable treatment including insulin is critical to their survival. Type 2 diabetes is by far the most common form of the disease worldwide and is often directly related to a lack of exercise and obesity. Early diagnosis is very important and the condition, although potentially fatal if left untreated, is easily managed with blood glucose control through a combination of diet, physical activity and if necessary medication. However, the best course of action if possible, is to engage in 30 minutes of moderate intensity exercise each day and maintain a healthy diet, which can go a long way to preventing the disease in the first place.
