21.01.2022 Its been such a busy week celebrating NAIDOC week this week. The children have learnt so much. Today after we had a delivery one of our Educators decided to make a oversized Boomerang. We all gathered around the table watched a short clip about what boomerangs do and what they look like. With different resources offered to the children they all decided to work together and make one amazing Boomerang!

18.01.2022 Hi all, today the children, Rosie and Sue set up an area for our winter wonderland. The children enjoyed decorating the tree and wrapping presents for under the tree. They also had fun playing with the fake snow.

18.01.2022 When children are provided with variety and choice in their craft experiences they are provided with the space and ability to express themselves and make connections to their world. On Thursday morning the children at REED Wundowie selected their own resources and were supported to create rock friends that prompted a discussion on mantarays which was a fun spontaneous learning moment. This was then followed up by open ended drawings to share other ideas and knowledge among the group within collaborative learning

16.01.2022 Jeans For Genes Day Today we celebrated jeans for Genes day and let the children get creative by decorating a pair of Jeans! How awesome do they look!?

16.01.2022 Our schoolies love making paper planes. So Kirstie decided to challenge them by making a different kind of paper plane using straws! The excitement from them once they got to fly them, was just as exciting for us too

15.01.2022 Today we decided to bring out our threading box. Threading is so much more then just that. Threading works the children's fine motor skills and manipulation with working the string onto the beads. Threading also helps with their hand eye coordination and concentration. As you can see these two little girls, they both have their concentration faces on for this activity

15.01.2022 What a exciting day today! Kindy this morning and then out to explore our community in the afternoon! Park play, bush walks, exploring native flora and finished off with a quick stop at the local IGA. We all love getting back out into our community for the children to explore and learn

12.01.2022 Today we learnt about the importance of our Wildlife in Australia. After a little video of our beautiful Black Cockatoos and them being an endangered species, we decided to do do some activities on this. Our Big Kids drew their very own versions of the black cockatoo, and then we all decorated our very own wings full of colour! They all did such a fantastic Job!

09.01.2022 Fruit, fruit glorious fruit This mornings morning tea was a little different for our children. Our amazing g work placement student Alison, organised to make fruit skewers. The children loved to be able to cut out their own shapes with cookie cutters then placing the fruit onto a skewer using their hand eye coordination. Yummy

09.01.2022 What a way to end the week. We all decided to do cosmic Yoga with our little ones Yoga for children works so many ways. It increases children's self-esteem, confidence, concentration and memory. Develops strength and flexibility and so much more!

08.01.2022 Pretend play is very important for children's development and learning. In our home corner, children can imagine roles from what they watch in their own homes with familiar surroundings and having imaginative fantasies. Today our educators were sitting down at a table with cups of tea while being served delicious soups made from our very own master chef's. Perfect for these winter rainy days Home corners are a space for endless imagination

01.01.2022 Today is National Early Childhood Educators Day. Early Childhood Educators' Day recognises and celebrates the work of Australia's educators in early learning services for their wonderful contribution to the wellbeing and healthy development of the young children in their care. It's a chance to say thank you to Australia’s early childhood educators on a very personal level by service operators, families and their children, as well as collectively at the national level. At REED, our staff are our most important asset - we really appreciate all of their hard work and dedication and today we say thank you. If you can, make sure to thank your children’s carers today.
