23.01.2022 Today is the launch of the Great Reef Census, which launches across the Great Barrier Reef today from Lady Elliot Island in the south to the remote Far North! The Great Reef Census is a world-first citizen science project designed to capture large-scale reconnaissance data in the form of images from across the Great Barrier Reef, helping to support reef research & management. Over the next 10 weeks, a flotilla of boats will head out to every part of the Reef to capture the ...data! The Great Reef Census is a Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef project, delivered in partnership with the The University of Queensland, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority and the Australian Institute of Marine Science with support from James Cook University, the University of Technology Sydney and the University of Tasmania. The project is funded by the partnership between the Australian Government’s Reef Trust and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, the Prior Family Foundation and the Reef and Rainforest Research Centre. #GreatReefCensus #GreatBarrierReef #ReefEducation

The body of the clownfish is coated in a mucus layer that provides immunity against the toxins produced by the sea anemone to capture their prey.
