11.01.2022 Hi Reefside Legends, I have placed the safety of our little community at the forefront during this Coronavirus pandemic that has swept through the world and continues into worsen in many parts as we continue the fight. Taking responsibility I aligned myself with the home confinement order that the QLD government initiated on the 31st of March, and closed the doors for almost 3 months.... Keeping an eye on the worsening situation in Victoria I brought on booking restrictions prior to border restrictions. I now see this developing infection rate in NSW and I will be cancelling all bookings effective immediately, giving full refunds to guests from ANY locality in NSW. We cannot afford a wave of infections in QLD and I wouldn't want to be a part of further hurt to locals, particularly the families of Hideaway/Hydeaway Bay. This also goes without mentioning the critical industry in our backyard of the Bowen Basin that has kept the cogs turning throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Whether or not you believe in the virus or not, Queensland going into lockdown will have the same impact. We have all worked so hard to get here so now is not the time to be complacent. I encourage other Airbnb hosts and Hotel/Resort managers to consider the same path. Please take care and keep in touch with your family members abroad, J Premier please shut the borders to NSW.
