25.01.2022 Spring time is tuna time and we've been getting plenty recently. Here's Ross with a decent sized Mac Tuna. For a little fish these things pull like trains.

23.01.2022 The smile says it all. Reel Addiction is all about creating special memories for people. This time it's for Josh catching this 20 odd kilo Spanish Mackerel. This was Josh's first maccy and his biggest fish ever. Well done mate, you won't get them like that in Canberra.

20.01.2022 Normally the pics that I put up for you guys are all about the fish, sometimes it's more about the angler. Ian (pictured) after boarding 'Reel Addiction' in the morning informed me that he has 13 titanium screws fusing his spine together. I thought geeze, how am I going to get this bloke to catch a fish and get through the day without snapping him in half. Midway through the day Ian hooked onto this behemoth of a Golden Trevally which measured in at 1.04 metres off the bottom... in 40 metres of water. The fight that ensued was mad and Ian proved that he has the heart of a lion giving it absolutely everything that he had to bring this fish up to the surface. Needless to say he was all in at the end of it all but one happy lad. If submitted this fish would have eclipsed the all tackle length world record by 10cm but it wasn't about that, it's all about creating magic moments and special memories for people. See more

18.01.2022 Cover photo No 7. This one is pretty cool not so much because it's got my ugly mug on it but more because Reef took the photo. That makes him a cover photo photographer at age 10. Very proud of you mate, well done.

16.01.2022 Woo hoo. That's cover photo No 8 and the third this year. Make sure you get into your newsagent and grab yourself a copy of this quality mag.

15.01.2022 The second reef fishing closure of the year is upon us, not that it matters at Hydeaway Bay though. There's always some nice pelagics around such as this nice Golden Trevally caught by Michael.

15.01.2022 The weather may have not been the best recently but Reel Addiction has still been on the water every day and getting amongst some good fish. Here's Nick with a cracker queenfish caught on a trolled hard body.

15.01.2022 Getting up close and personal with a fly caught Mac Tuna. To quote a well known saying from the late and great Lefty Kreh. If it aint chartreuse it aint no use.

11.01.2022 The Grey Mackerel are starting to show up and on light line and lures they are piles of fun all day long.

10.01.2022 There's a few spots left to get your kids out for a fish these holidays. Give me a call to make a booking. Mick 0413 882 153.

09.01.2022 112cm of pure power and speed for Dieter. I don't come across many Diamond Trevally here at Hydeaway Bay but when I do they're beauties.

08.01.2022 The deeper reef fishing is firing up with plenty of tasty morsels such as this nice grunter caught by Liz coming to hand.

07.01.2022 Take care when you're out our way guys

06.01.2022 The way that Coral Trout adapt their skin colours to suit their environment is quite amazing. This fish held up by Jaydan was plucked from underneath a shallow weedy rock where the water is always dirty. Judging by it's skin colour it had been there for awhile.

04.01.2022 Reel Addiction's home base looking glamorous as always.

03.01.2022 don't forget to tune in for the hot goss on where to go and what to do on the water over the weekend.

02.01.2022 Move over Hervey Bay. I'm declaring Hydeaway Bay as the new Golden Trevally capital of the country. The amount of these things that are caught here is ridiculous, it's just one after another and it's impossible to find a small one. Here's Sharon with a nice one that did it's best to pull her out of the boat
