05.01.2022 SAFETY ADVICE FROM REEL IT IN AUSTRALIAN FLATHEAD CHALLENGE. Hey all, great to see so many fish coming in through the app. Just a reminder for all to be safe out there. We know the weather in some parts is not great. If it is unsafe to fish then do not fish. As we mentioned in the briefing on Thursday no fish is worth risking your or your family or friends safety. ... As the licensed skipper of your vessel it is your responsibility to stay safe and make the right call. We are as disappointed as many are with the weather. Hopefully it eases tomorrow but remember that even if you cannot get out you will still be in for all the random draws.

02.01.2022 G'day All Its with a heavy heart that we have to confirm that this years Mallacoota Flathead Challenge has been cancelled. With Covid, borders closed, Metro Melbourne still not allowed to travel we have had to come to this hard decision. We hung on and hoped for as long as we possibly could, but its getting all too hard now with no clear guidelines.... We wouldn't be able to socialise and share a beer with each other which is such a shame as WE ALL need a good break with fellow friends and enjoy our time together. Next year will be bigger and better than ever. We really hope that everyone is well and staying safe during these hard times. We are devastated as we love this event so much. We are still running the Australian Flathead Challenge for those wanting to fish a competition - October 24th weekend. And Victorians have the option of fishing the weekend after on October 31st weekend. Stay safe all and see you all very soon... Cheers Troy & Scott
