05.01.2022 QBFP officers in Port Douglas seized a whopping 70 unmarked crab pots from Dickson Inlet, Mowbray River and Mossman River over two days. A reminder to all fi...shers that crab pots must be marked with the user's surname and address and your gear should be removed from the water when you finish up. Crab pots that are left in the water continue to 'ghost fish' and can trap crabs, fish and other animals like turtles. You can report abandoned and unmarked crab pots by calling the 24-hour Fishwatch hotline on 1800 017 116 (toll free within Queensland). See more
