25.01.2022 DO YOU STRESS EAT? We all feel stressed sometimes, especially with the pandemic state we are still going through! Sometimes we cant always find the root of our stress to solve it and thats okay too! But what we do have control of is how we respond to that stress through our nutrition!... Omega - 3 fatty acids have been shown to reduce anxiety and some symptoms of depression! Omega 3 can be found in salmon and nuts etc... Also foods high in tryptophan like turkey which is not only high in protein have been shown to have links to lowering anxiety and depression levels. 24.01.2022 Travelling and Staying fit. With travel restrictions easing (minus victoria ) Many people when going on holidays and are worried about gaining weight! First of all youre on holidays and should be enjoying all the foods whilst on your adventure! Some tips to help you maintain and not gain too much holiday fluff are;... 1. Youre in a new place - go WALK and explore. Go on that hike, canoe or beach swim more often! 2. Eat all the unhealthy options in moderation, you dont need to stuff your face! 3. If you know youre going to have a big, unhealthy dinner during the day try to ensure you give youre body the healthy nutrients it needs. 4. Switch that cocktail of 400 calories to a 70 calorie vodka, lime and soda. 5. Drink tonnes of water 6. Try hit your usual protein goals 7. Get involved with the local gyms and trial a session. Great way to meet the locals and sweat out all the food and alcohol from the day before! Overall, youre on holiday and should enjoy it. Use it as a time to fuel your mind and body and when you get back you can knuckle down as youll be reenergised. 24.01.2022 GET THE PUMP! Cable chest flys! One of my favourite exercises to really burn out the chest but often done so wrong around the gym floor! Technique is key! ... 1. Set the pulleys on a dual-cable machine to chest height, and stand (in the middle) between the two stacks. Grab the D-Shape handles. 2. Keeping your back straight and core engaged, raise your arms out to your sides, palms facing forward, and walk a step or two forward in order to create tension on the cables. Stand with one foot in front of the other. 3. Bend your elbows slightly, making sure not to let them travel behind your shoulders. This is your starting position. 4. Pull your hands toward each other in wide arcs in front of you. As your hands come together, rotate your wrists so your palms face upwards pausing when your hands touch and holding that tension point. 5.slowly return to, with control, to the starting position. Really think about squeezing those pecs *mind to muscle* connection is key! #chest #chestday #cablefly #gym #fitness #bodybuilding #health
