17.01.2022 That’s all of plastic saved! lovely customers you don’t know the difference your making! Every time you leave your bottles out ready to be collected you probably don’t know how many other people are doing the same. So I wanted to share this amazing photo, all these bottles were collected from our customers last week. The bottles have been in quarantine for a week, they have all been washed, refilled and will put back into circulation. That’s a lot of plastic saved from... the oceans & landfill. The biggest change we have noticed is we are selling more and more 5 litre container refills. This means you save money! and significantly reduce single use plastic as your household is using fewer plastic bottles. Keep up the great work Shipley & Bingley. 07.01.2022 Some fantastic news, although I keep reading about the fact disposable masks are polluting our oceans and green spaces. Please wear a reusable mask and leave the disposable blue ones for medical use. Reusable masks are readily available in both zero waste shops as well as supermarkets.

04.01.2022 Bug ugly bottles Right let’s be completely honest Our bottles are bug ugly the colour & style means that they wont win any awards . Hey but beauty can be found in the most peculiar places . Our bottles are beautiful because they are made from rhdpe. ... Well what does this mean? . Our bottles are made from post consumer recycled plastic, which means that they are made from 100% Recycled Plastic, and are also recyclable. The negative side is that they are expensive and not many suppliers sell them. As our supplier said people want things to look nice and pretty and it’s about slowly changing consumer perceptions. Currently there are only a handful of suppliers selling these bottles that are made from 100% recycled Plastic, the more companies use them the the cost of them should decrease. We did look at alternatives such as glass but for health and safety reasons this is on hold for the moment. So we love our bottles they may not be shiny and beautiful but they have a bit of history and are helping to reduce single use plastic. Remember folks all plastic isn’t bad it’s single use plastic that’s the huge issue.
