20.01.2022 When youre really unwell, its hard to see past the pain and the why of it all. My happiest achievement on this journey Im on is that I am now a trained and qualified oncology massage therapist. There are very few in Hobart... which means many people will be unaware that with a specially trained therapist, the side effects of chemo, radiation and surgery can be helped. Please share this with those who need a helping hand on their cancer journey. Its a gorgeous, gentle, nurturing and utterly safe treatment, available in clinic. Read more at www.bodystillness.com.au which is located in Hobarts Sandy Bay.

19.01.2022 Arent the first sunny days of summer great? So full of promise! I was asked a new question this week about massages! Do I have to get undressed? asked a lady who I guessed was being brave when she asked. I take these questions seriously because I suspect some people are missing out on the significant benefits of massage or reflexology due to discomfort re getting undressed. For reflexology, the answer is no. We work on feet and/or hands and/or ears where we treat the entir...e body as we believe and see it mapped in those areas. For remedial massage, we only need to treat those parts of the body we are working on, ie back and shoulders, or legs, or arms, etc... and if we think a more extensive massage is beneficial, well check with you first. For relaxation massage, its comfier to undress, keeping underwear on, but professional therapists will keep you covered with towels, only discreetly exposing areas a bit at a time. Professional massage therapists are discreet and respectful of your privacy at all times. And if you are uncomfortable, say so. Good therapists care! See more

19.01.2022 Yay! News in oncology massage is that The Peter Mac in Melbourne has added oncology massage to its wellness offerings, joining other respected health clinics doing this around Aus. Its a very special, gentle, safe massage treatment for those with cancer. Great stats around reducing side effects of chemo, radiotherapy & surgery; its known to reduce fatigue and pain, anxiety, nausea, depression and more. Treatments with me (am trained & registered in this area) are available at Body Stillness in Sandy Bay. See www.bodystillness.com.au and please share if there are people in your life who might benefit.

18.01.2022 Heres a Christmas treat which solves two problems: what to get somebody special and how to relax before or after the festive madness. Buy a 60 min foot reflexology gift voucher with me and in addition I will offer you a 60 min treatment thats $20 off. Contact me directly on 0484 34 9902 or reach out to me via www.reflexionshobart.com.au (take a sneak look at my new web site)...

18.01.2022 Pain is a dreadful companion. It can be an all-consuming part of daily life, affecting everyone around you. Reflexology or a gentle massage treatment I have developed can help a lot. One of my clients said wow, thats the first time in forever Ive not felt pain for a while in my body. And thats exactly why I changed careers... I love it when people leave lighter than when they arrived. More info re me, treatments & available times at www.bodystillness.com.au or www.reflexionshobart.com.au.

17.01.2022 Are you taking time to smell the roses? These are challenging times and like so many friends and acquaintances I am reaching out to, I find some days are harder than others! While I would love to offer Zoom reflexology treatments, I find I need the energetic connection of connecting with feet, hands or face. I tell my clients that feet talk to me and in a way, they do! So right now, Im busy reading and re-reading text books, watching videos and thinking about the fabulous case study results that were arising from my Reflexology Research Program. Yes, temporarily stopped, but cant wait to start again and share the results in the months to come. Stay well! PS. If you want to be part of my case study program to see if reflexology can help your condition, find my contact details at www.reflexionshobart.com.au for info.

15.01.2022 Ssshhh. If I seem to have been quieter than normal, its caused by being busy! First qtr this year saw me garner my Dip of Reflexology, and this qtr am immersed in training to specialise in oncology massage... a new professional passion. Appointments available Fridays and Saturdays in Sandy Bay at warm & inviting Body Stillness. For reflexology, relaxation or remedial massage book me at www.bodystillness.com.au

15.01.2022 As a qualified reflexologist and accredited oncology massage therapist, my treatments for those with cancer are all about reducing the side effects. Research below is more evidence of it working. This kind of help applies to all forms of cancer. And it just makes you feel so much better!!!

14.01.2022 How do you choose the perfect massage therapist or reflexologist? I didnt give this much thought before I trained for these professions! The obvious answer is that you need to trust and like them, and thats a very big part of it. But if youre having trouble finding the perfect therapist, consider some of these factors. Do they have qualifications and experience? Do they listen carefully to your needs and deliver? Are they a member of a professional association and/or con...stantly learning and sharing new info and skills? Do they give you suggestions for self care before you leave? And take note of your progress? These are just some of the hallmarks of a good and professional therapist! We are lucky in Hobart to have a thriving community... so dont give up if you havent found your perfect massage therapist! Keep looking! One place to take a peep at is www.bodystillness.com.au and were at the quiet-ish end of Sandy Bay! See more

12.01.2022 What do I love about reflexology? How people feel afterwards. Grounded. Lighter. Less pain. Freer. Did you know we have wonderful reflexologists in Hobart... so why not try it or rediscover it for yourself? I have info, links and bookings available on my website at www.reflexionshobart.com.au

11.01.2022 If the early winter blues are making you feel creaky or cobwebby, a massage or reflexology treatment might be the answer! Do something about the niggling pain, the annoying headaches, the aches that keep you awake or the sense of stress you cant shake off. I have a few appointments left this Friday and next week, so come and find us in our new rooms at Body Stillness in North Hobart. Health insurance rebates available for remedial massage. More info at www.reflexionshobart.com.au

11.01.2022 Looking forward to once again being able to support others as we move through these challenging weeks and months!

11.01.2022 Self help for hot flushes, below! Am so looking forward to completing my quals in facial reflexology one day... a certain pandemic slowed things down! But an all-over facial reflexology treatment is among the treatments I offer. Feels very different to foot reflexology, but clients love it. More below on the flushes!

11.01.2022 Hands up who thinks foot reflexology sounds great, because it makes you feel great? It does that... and much more. Ive been editing the latest crop of case studies from around Aus for a reflexology mag I edit... and the stories of how this treatment helps children & teenagers are fantastic. If as a parent you need a helping hand (literally) with your kids conditions or anxieties, during the treatment I can also teach you techniques to use at home. Its a wonderful complementary therapy that calms, eases and promotes sleep, hastens healing rates, the benefits go on! See your favourite reflexologist for a trestment or see me at Body Stillness in Sandy Bay. Open Day Saturday 14 September, 10am to 2pm. Or bookings with me can be made online at www.bodystillness.com.au

10.01.2022 An exciting change!

10.01.2022 We have some fabulous therapists at Body Stillness! What I love about where I work is there is a whole group and we all have dlifferent specialisations!

09.01.2022 Loving the weather this week, along with the lift in spirits as the weather warms up! So much exciting stuff happening for my clients at the moment. I am practising a brand new skill on a few volunteers: lymphatic reflexology, to help people with edema or lymphodema (think swollen ankles, calves, arms...). Am also mid way through a Reflexology Research Program, this time trialling how reflexology can help alleviate pain throughout the body. Results are so far positive. More to report later this month. Have been especially busy lately with oncology massage clients and what can I say... I am so humbled by the courage, resilience, hope and spirit of these beautiful clients, many of whom can't quite see the bright future that definitely lies ahead when they shake off this dastardly disease!

06.01.2022 So pleased to announce that the lovely clinic I am based at, Body Stillness, is reopening on 1 June (all going well) and I am available to treat clients with remedial massage or reflexology from Friday 5 June. Look out for me at our new location at 12 Smith Street, North Hobart. We have lots of additional safety measures in place to ensure we meet the highest standards of operation established by the State Government and our respective professional associations. More information at www.bodystillness.com.au or www.reflexionshobart.com.au

06.01.2022 I received a reflexology treatment recently... and said ouch quite a bit! My treatments are different; gentler, peaceful, deeply grounding. Most of my clients drift asleep under their cosy blanket or go deep within. I also become deeply meditative, utterly focussed on the gentle healing power of reflexology on the feet. Just gentle pressure, but done the right way, effective. Try it! Spots left this Saturday 9th November; go to www.bodystillness.com.au to find out more and/or book in with me.

06.01.2022 I was asked this week if a 30 min treatment time is enough to treat a sore leg or shoulder with remedial massage? The answer is yes(ish)! If you only have one area of pain or tightness, then 30mins will certainly help you on the way... and as therapists well have an idea if you need more treatments. But if you have two or more sets of issues, book an hour and chat to us about prioritising treatment. Remedial massage therapists can help with all sorts of muscular & soft tis...sue issues! And remember that a short session is heaps better than none, if cost is an issue. And that half hour appointment may make all the difference to your week! See more about my treatments (massage, reflexology, oncology massage) at www.reflexionshobart.com.au or www. bodystillness.com.au

06.01.2022 We have sadly closed the doors at Body Stillness, and before that, the various places where I am privileged to offer reflexology and remedial massage have also closed their doors. As my Mum used to say often, when one door closes, another opens. While I am sad that I cannot keep treating for now, this unexpected gift of time means I can reach out to friends and acquaintances by phone (imagine that!) to chat and find out how theyre really going. Please know I am available by phone if you have any concerns or questions that a remedial massage therapist or reflexologist can answer, or you just need to talk. I am happy to give tips about how to self administer hand reflexology! Just reach out via Messenger or email me at [email protected] See you soon, when the craziness passes!

06.01.2022 I love how gentle Lilly’s work is!

03.01.2022 The trees in Sandy Bay reckon its Spring time! I know what time of year it is by the number of people who have lingering colds & coughs that wont go away! 02.01.2022 A new start for a new year. Meet Reflexions, the name of my business and the look and feel developed to reflect what I offer. You can explore my website https://reflexionshobart.com.au and learn more about my treatments and background. Recommendations and reviews are welcome and if you like and follow this page, youll be kept up to date on whats new and happening in the world of oncology massage and reflexology in Hobart. By the way, thank you SmithAssociates for my corporate look!

02.01.2022 I often get asked about why I became a reflexologist. My answer is simply that I think I was meant to be one... I just didnt know and couldnt make it happen till this part of my life unfolded! Its soooooo satisfying when my clients say wow after a treatment. Its super relaxing (for many, better than a full body relaxation massage). And as we believe the feet precisely mirror the body, a treatment is a wonderful, non invasive way of healing and allowing the body to find its own balance. Treat yourself soon! Book into your favourite reflexologist; just check their quals, memberships, experience if theyre new to you. In Hobart, Im at Sandy Bays Body Stillness clinic. Availability / bookings at www.bodystillness.com.au

02.01.2022 Exciting news from Reflexions! I have launched my very own Reflexology Research Program in Hobart. This is a program I am offering for adults suffering symptoms associated with chronic conditions such as migraine, gut or hormonal issues, sinusitis, skin disorders, anxiety or pain (to name a few). By being part of my six week trials, you get six gentle and wonderfully relaxing foot reflexology treatments at a significantly reduced rate and together we professionally document the results to see how much reflexology has helped. To receive an info sheet and find out more, email me at [email protected]

01.01.2022 Do you know someone with peripheral neuropathy in their feet or hands, with an interest in a gentle alternative therapy? Maybe they've tried everything to deal with the pins and needles, pain and numbness, with no luck? Through my Reflexology Research Program, I have helped one client overcome the pain and pins and needles (see my earlier post). In my new intake of participants, I would love to see if we can achieve a similar result. The program is six weekly treatments (at a reduced rate) in North Hobart, and we document the results as we go. This is suitable for a range of conditions, including pain management. Find out more at ://reflexionshobart.com.au/research-into-the-effects-of-reflexology-for-specific-conditions/ or message me.
