19.01.2022 Tasmania Branch Meeting, Hand Reflexology & Hand Reflex EPE Sunday 15th November 2020 All Association Members and non-members welcome!... For those who have learnt reflexology before, this is a great opportunity to practice these less used techniques. This comes at a very fortuitous time for those who attended the Online Master Class last month and would like some revision. This Educational Practicum Exchange (EPE) will be a sharing of information and techniques of hand reflexology. As a group, we will compare some of the more popular hand reflex charts and discuss our understanding and findings that we have gained through experience. 14.01.2022 National Carers Week from October 11-17th, is a time to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution Australia’s 2.8 million unpaid carers make to our nation. One in eight Australians provide unpaid care and support to a family member or friend with a disability, mental illness, chronic condition, terminal illness, or who is frail aged. You can get involved during Carers Week by visiting the website and taking a couple of minutes to say thanks. You can also help rais...e awareness by rounding up workmates, friends and family for a National Carers Week event, drawing attention to who carers are, what they do and how they can access services and supports. DID YOU KNOW? Carers provide 1.9 billion hours of unpaid care. The replacement value of that care (if it was provided by paid care workers) is estimated at $60.3 billion that’s more than $1 billion per week. The demand for unpaid carers is at an all-time high and set to increase in the future. By 2025 it is estimated that only 42 per cent of those with a severe disability aged over 65 and not living in residential care will have access to an unpaid carer. Source: www.carersweek.com.au

The National Mental Health Month is unlike many other mental health awareness campaigns.... The National Mental Health Month is a program that the MHFA is extremely proud of and we intend to reach out to and educate as many Australians as possible, to help reduce stigma and facilitate positive and non-judgemental discussion surrounding the important topic of mental health in Australia.
