09.01.2022 When I lost my mother at 25, it destroyed me. I remember walking through the streets of Los Angeles with tears in my eyes. I had never felt pain this deep befor...e. However, from the death of my mother I developed an empathy for others that I never would have had.I also gained an emotional grounding for my music. No-one wants to hear about overcoming obstacles from someone who has never truly been tested. Often in hindsight we can see that our personal tragedies turn out to be the training grounds that force us to grow into the more complete, brave, beautiful, well rounded versions of ourselves. On my last tour, I brought this idea to my fans during my meet and greets. Night after night in city after city they shared the unspeakable difficulties they had endured and then what gift it had given them in their lives. Night after night we shifted our stories from what we had lost to what we had gained. Putting this video together has been an incredible reminder at this exact moment in history.
