25.01.2022 THE REFORMER The Reformer is Joseph Pilates most famous exercise machine.it has a ‘bed’ that you can sit, lie or stand on to do your exercises. The beauty of the Reformer comes with its spring led resistance system. The tension on the springs can be made light or strong depending on the needs of those who are using it. Changing the spring resistance can help target different areas of the body as well. Using springs instead of weights means that the process also requires more ...focus and control of your movements. The exercises on the Reformer can be adapted for those who are beginners and is perfect for remedial care, at the same time we can also push the exercises along for a great HIIT workout, it’s not uncommon to find that professional athletes utilise the reformer for cross training by purposes. We can use the Reformer to stretch, strengthen, mobilise and work on co-ordination, balance and control. If your interested in attending a Studio Equipment Private or Duet session then feel free to get in touch. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YAXexcpmoiM

13.01.2022 The reason people turn to Pilates as a form of exercise are entirely individual, but the benefits are the same for everyone. Improvements in- Flexibility Strength... Energy Posture Spinal stabilisation Balance Body awareness We believe in a holistic approach to movement in Pilates, so even if you come to us with a particular focus and goal we will add other goals as well, it’s important to remember that every part of the body is connected and the effects on one part ripple throughout.

13.01.2022 REFORMER/TOWER COMBO I’m excited about having this piece of equipment in the studio, think of it as a hybrid reformer that enables you to many of Joseph Pilates exercises that he designed for his Trapeze table, but as it takes up less space it’s a great addition to our studio. As well as being able to utilise the reformer itself you can also add on challenges to the exercises by using the tower springs instead of the regular straps, this requires even more body control and f...ocus. The reformer itself can also disappear to be used as a matwork surface and then we can have fun with the Roll Down Bar, Push Through Bar and Bottom Loaded Springs.... don’t know what any of those are? Don’t worry, come along for our studio sessions, have a try and then you’ll be as excited about them as I am! See more

13.01.2022 WELCOME TO THE WUNDA CHAIR Smaller and more portable than the Reformer, don’t be fooled, the Wunda Chair gets you working hard. Basically it’s a seat with spring loaded pedals (Pilates loved his springs) and some handles that can be added to help you with stability. The version I’m buying also can have the added benefit of arm springs attached to it. Exercising on the Wunda Chair can actually be much harder than the Reformer as being a smaller piece of equipment it requires y...ou to use more of your body to control the movements. It can hit all the target parts of the body, legs, abdominals, arms, extension and full body integration. For those who have difficulty lying down (vertigo issues, pregnant women), the chair can be a benefit for you as you can do many of the lying down exercises you would do on the reformer in the seated position. From beginner to advanced Pilates exercises there is going to be a lot of fun with this chair in the studio! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VZ3tz3rTec8

11.01.2022 What Pilates equipment will we have in our new studio? You’ve probably heard of the Reformer, it’s the most well known of Joseph Pilates inventions and still growing in popularity nearly 100yrs after it was invented. We will have be having 2 reformers in our new studio that will be utilised in our Private and Duet studio sessions, but Joseph didn’t stop there with his exercise innovations so we also have a couple of his other piece of Pilates equipment he created in our stu...dio too. I’m going to post a couple of videos over the next few days to show you some of the goodies we will have and their benefits! In the meantime here’s a link that can help you learn a little bit more about Joseph Pilates himself- http://pilatezenergy.com/?p=44

05.01.2022 DUET CLASSES AVAILABILITY I know the winter days can be less inspiring to get out the house and keep moving, but our bodies need to keep moving all year around. Our matwork classes are all currently fully booked, but keep an eye out for next term as spots for occasionally open up.... In the meantime I do still have a couple of spaces left in some of our evening Duet sessions. Even though there are two people in a session these type of classes are often called ‘semi-private’s’ as each individual works on their own personal Pilates program. This makes it perfect for those starting out in Pilates or for those who may need some TLC for their bodies. Current availability- Tuesdays-7.45pm, 1 Space Wednesdays- 6.45pm, 1 Space Interested? Then get in touch to organise your First Pilates session- www.reformpilatesstudio.com.au
