15.01.2022 Have you seen this before? It's the coffee plant in flower . Each flower becomes a coffee cherry and in each cherry are two coffee beans. The cherries are harvested at their perfect ripeness, hulled to removed the flesh (in the case of the washed method) and left to dry in the sun on concrete patios or raised drying beds. Dried beans are checked for defect before being shipped to the coffee roaster. Alternate methods of processing involve the cherry flesh being left on the ...beans as they dry (natural method). Or part of the inner flesh left intact before drying (honey processed method). There's a long journey from farm to cup that's easy to forget as you pick up your take-out cuppa .
