14.05.2022 In a follow-up on last week’s ‘Weed of the Week’ post on #GroundAsparagusFern, this week we highlight it’s cousin the #ClimbingAsparagusFern which is also a category 3 #weed which has high impact due to it’s ability to grow up to 12 metres in length and climb all over #native #canopies. Its #seeds are also easily dispersed further aggravating the capability to control it. Get the full story via our resident #weedguru Brooke and be sure to check out all of Brooke’s posts over on the Regen Australia website blog. #environmentalweedcontrol #planteducation #weederadication

29.04.2022 Our teams come across some wonderful #wildlife during the course of their day, however on this occasion they came across a tragic encounter with an #ibis found tangled in a tree by #fishingline. Our team spotted the ibis hanging upside down in a tree while doing #lake maintenance and reported it to the relevant council. Hopefully the ibis made a safe escape, however, it is a timely reminder for all who enjoy the sport of #fishing to please dispose of your waste properly! On the #GoldCoast you may have noticed #fishingtackle bins around the place for this purpose, such as those in this photo. For more information on these bins, check out the Tackle Bin Project website as well as our blog on what to do if you come across injured wildlife. #careforwildlife #seabirds

13.04.2022 We'd like to say a big shout out to our friend Wal Mayr of Watergum who is a well deserved winner of this year's Qld Landcarer of the year Award! Congratulations Wal! For more information on the details of this award and a run down on all the award winners check out the News Page on the Queensland Water and Land Carer's website. https://qwalc.org.au/2021-qld-landcare-awards/ #landcare #environment #conservation

29.03.2022 Did you know Regen Australia has teams dedicated to improving the health of our #waterbodies and riparian #ecosystems? Every work day our teams are working from #land and from the #water, monitoring, reporting, restoring and maintaining these precious #natural assets.

10.03.2022 While we put all the time and care into #planting and #watering, sometimes our #plants just don't survive. Here you can see a beautiful #Grevillea which has been the victim of #deer predation. The deer eat fresh new growth and rub their #antlers on small trees! This baby deer was seen on the site early in the morning before the sun came up. I think you'll agree, it's hard to be upset at such a #cuteface #gardeningchallenges #revegetation #outinthefield #onthejob #wildlifeencounters #landscapinglife

08.03.2022 It’s always exciting to hear of a new species of #rainforest #tree, and when it’s in our own backyard that is even more exciting! The Wongawallan walnut (Endiandra wongawallanesis) was recently discovered by #botanist Lui Weber when he recently visited his physio for back treatment. Resembling the #CrystalCreekWalnut, an #endangeredspecies found in northern #NSW, the #WongawallanWalnut has been located in the #GoldCoast Hinterland, not far from the M1 and is also an #endangered tree which can grow up to 27M in height. So endangered is this species, there are twice as many #Pandas on the planet as there are Wongawallan Walnuts. The good news is, now that we know, they can be grown and planted to help survive their population. More on the link from ABC News.

03.03.2022 Today marks the first of our Team #Bundy Updates kicking off with a project at the beautiful #woodgate Beach, targeting #groundasparagusfern , #motherofmillions and #coralcreeper on the delicate #sand #dune system along the esplanade. For the full story and pictures follow the link to our blog. Great job Bundy! #weedremoval #teamwork #landscapinglife #revegetation #landscaping #dunerestoration #coastalimprovements #environment

25.02.2022 Today we start highlighting some of the great #nativeplants that we grow at the Regen Australia #Nursery that we use for specific jobs in our projects. Kicking off with the very useful #LomandraLongifolia or #SpinyheadedMatRush which is very popular in #garden designs particularly helpful around #watercourses. See if you can spot some around our local #creeks. More info via the link: https://bit.ly/3JBRbXd

20.02.2022 Today we highlight a very prevalent and challenging #weed which was mentioned in a previous story where our #Bundaberg team were working. The annoying and readily identifiable #GroundAsparagusFern is another category 3 weed which easily re-establishes itself when extracted and has become a serious #environmental weed. Get the full story via our resident #weedguru Brooke and be sure to check out all of Brooke’s posts over on the Regen Australia website blog.

06.02.2022 This week we introduce you to Amie who works as a #NurseryHand and Production Specialist at the Regen Nursery. Amie has been with Regen Australia for 5 years and has also worked in the field and was previously our Nursery Manager before she chose to take some time out for her kids. Prior to joining Regen Amie worked as a manufacturing #jeweller and believes the dexterity used in her past job has been a useful transferrable skill during the production of #seeds and #seedlings. She was encouraged to take up a career in #horticulture from her mentor Alan who had been in the industry for 50 years and taught her everything from seed collecting to #propagation techniques. Say a big 'hello' to Amie everyone! #earthguardian #wildlifewarrior #selfie #nurserylife

18.01.2022 Today we visited a job we did on Orpheus Island where the brief was to remove all #weed #trees and carry out trimming of the #canopy. This was done by removing all the debris via a floating work platform. The #island was then #mulched and #revegetated. It was a very successful project which received a lot of great comments from the residents living in the area. #OrpheusIsland #treescaping #landscapinglife #weedremoval
