20.01.2022 SNAIL ALERT! Last week a rouge snail ate half of my trial... And one side of the plants in the greenhouse! After the initial shock, we noticed that the remaining plants were the biochar/compost samples, they had survived the attack...... Having done a little more research I now understand that biochar and other by products from the same source contain certain compounds that have the ability to protect plants and repell pests. I am still amazed by this wonderful product and it huge potential.
15.01.2022 What a perfect day for planting!!! The biochar and compost has now sat for 2 weeks and is ready for the tomato seeds... I also decided to plant some chilli seeds, to spice things up! I would to thank Yen, a good friend, for the use of her hot house and green thumb xx
11.01.2022 Today I begun preparing the 50/50 biochar/compost for the sample tomato plants. This will need to sit now for 2 weeks to allow all the goodies (nutrients) to be absorbed from the compost. A BIG thank you to Horticultural and Landscape Supplies for donating their 100% organic compost. See you in 2 weeks...
