15.01.2022 Our Natural Environment!!! We love exploring in our natural environment to see what we can find!! This morning the toddler found a preying mantis in their yard. Educators caught it and put it in a insect inclosure for the children to be able to explore and observe it!! The children have been very curious and pointing and discussing with one another what they see!!

07.01.2022 Lunch box day!! Once a month our Kindergarten bring in their own lunch box for lunch to practise for when they go to school!! It may seem like something so simple but it allows the children to open packets, undo containers and zip lock bags and pull off glad wrap which can be tricky for children and not all children have had an opportunity to try opening these things before. The children also enjoy showing what they have brought in for lunch and see what their peers bring!! It is such a wonderful learning experience!!!

05.01.2022 Workout Wednesday Last wednesday we had a day dedicated to healthy eating and exercise!!! We all dressed up in our 80s work our gear and enjoyed fruit smoothies for breakfast and lots of physical exercise throughout the day!! This was a fabulous way to finish off all our learning for our current quarterly focus about health, movement and our bodies!!!

02.01.2022 Child initiated learning experience!! This morning two of our kindy children sat in card board boxes in the sand pit and used the shovels as ores to pretend they were in a boat in the ocean! As other children began to engage in their imaginative play they asked educators how they could make fishing rods, with more children getting involved the experience moved out of the sand pit and to another area of the yard where they made water using material and streamers and used recy...cled materials to make fishing rods and fish. They discussed what other animals might live in the ocean and got out the large sea creatures to place in the ocean they had created. By the time the set up was complete all of the children in both the kindergarten and pre kindy group were all getting involved learning, creating and sharing the ideas with each other!!! See more
