25.01.2022 Do you have heel pain or stiffness under your feet first thing in the morning ? Do you know massage is the best way to help loosen up your foot & reduce the pain ? The plantar fascia is a band of connective tissue that runs along the sole from the heel to the ball of the foot. When your plantar fascia develops micro tears or becomes inflammed it is known as plantar fasciitis.... How does plantar fasciitis happen ? * People who do certain sports. Activities that place a lot of stress on the heel bone and attached tissue, i.e. running, dance and aerobics. * Flat-footed or high arches. People with flat feet may have reduced shock absorption, increasing strain on the plantar fascia. High arched feet have tighter plantar tissue, leading to similar effects. *Wearing poorly designed footwear with no arch support or stiff soles. Here are some good stretching exercises can assist your symptoms. If you have persistent foot pain for more than 1 month, we suggest you to book an appointment today and find out how massage can help you! 24.01.2022 == Isolated activation shoulder exercises for your external rotator muscles == Do you feel shoulder restriction while training weight lifting? We often see clients who have very restricted external rotation when they come for massage and usually it is resulted from over tight rotator cuff muscles. Dry needling and deep tissue massage can significantly increase your range of motion. ... We also suggest clients to stretch their rotator cuff & strengthen them specifically. The study has shown that strengthening the external shoulder rotator muscles, including the infraspinatus & teres minor muscle, improves performance and helps to prevent injury. Increasing the strength and capacity of your infraspinatus can help to keep your shoulders healthy and pain free when lifting overhead. These two muscles lies below the scapular spine. Infraspinatus primarily acts with the arm in neutral and Teres Minor is more active with external rotation in 90 degrees of abduction. Start the exercise gently and slowly with no pain or pinching feeling. If there is any discomfort, please stop immediately. For people who arent flexible enough or have existing/previous shoulder injury should consult prior doing this exercises. We strongly suggest to get massage to relax your muscles regularly as it can assist your workout performance for the next level ! Contact us today and find out what we can help your mobility in training !! Website resources : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8-SAtHd8pQ

24.01.2022 * A N T E R I O R - P E L V I C - T I L T * Your pelvis helps you walk, run, and lift weight off the ground. It also contributes to proper posture. An anterior pelvic tilt is when your pelvis is rotated forward, which forces your spine to curve. Its often caused by excessive sitting without enough exercise and stretching to counteract the effects of sitting all day. If you have an anterior pelvic tilt you may notice that the muscles in the front of your pelvis and thighs ar...e tight, while the ones in the back are weak. Your gluteus and abdominal muscles may also be weak. All of this can cause: - lower back pain - hip and knee pain - incorrect posture - forced hip and knee rotations Luckily, there are several exercises that you can do at home to help your pelvis return to a pain-free neutral position. This is an useful video to explain how you can stretch and strengthen your muscles to avoid pelvis tilt. Web Resources : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NZMaI-HeNU

15.01.2022 -- The importance of strong gluteus medius -- Your gluteus medius is one of your three major gluteus muscles. The gluteus medius is located on the side of your hip and attaches from the top of your pelvis to the top of your thigh bone. The gluteus medius is in charge of the action of lifting your leg to the side and stabilizing your pelvis while it bears weight - especially when running.... It also helps your bigger gluteus maximus muscle flex and extend your leg. Having strong glutes is important because we use our glutes in everyday life when you push off the ground while walking, running, or stepping. A weak gluteus medius can result in what is called Trendelenburg Sign, essentially the hip dropping down during stance phase of the gait cycle. This hip drop sounds relatively innocent, but remember that the human body, although separated into different muscle groups, functions as a chain. Although the GM seems like a relatively small muscle in isolation, a chink in this part of the chain can have significant effects on the rest of the body. Repeated misalignment of the pelvis during gait can lead to other problems in the lower body, such as spinal, knee and ankle misalignment. This not only increases risk of injury from overuse (e.g. tendinopathy) or incorrect landing (e.g. ACL), but can also decrease the bodys ability to generate power during general and sporting activity. Simple exercise that helps you strengthen them more effective.. Video credit to ACE - https://www.facebook.com/watch/

12.01.2022 Massage can be a part of a pro-active plan of preventative medicine much in the same way as exercise and healthy eating. We often advise our client to receive massage at least once every 6-8 weeks or sooner if you are in a high intensity training. Regular massage can help you get back on your feet quicker. 10.01.2022 Its time of the year that many people start to get cold & flu. Massage is beneficial for preventing the cold & flu if you dont have symptoms. However, if you are already sick, massage might make you feel worse! Massage benefits for preventing cold & flu: Improving circulation of the blood and lymph systems. ... Reducing the effects of stress, making you less susceptible to illness. Once you have a cold or the flu, receiving a massage may help you recover more quickly, but you might feel worse immediately after. Theres no scientific data to back up that claim. however, massage is contraindicated for people with a fever, diarrhea, or a contagious illness. Here are a few reasons NOT to get a massage when youre sick. (Or even if you just feel like you might be coming down with something.) Infections usually accompany colds/flu. 09.01.2022 Back pain is a common reason for absence from work and for seeking medical treatment. It can be uncomfortable and debilitating. There are few simple stretches you can add into your daily routines and keep your muscles healthy. Regular massage is very beneficial for your overall health and avoid the chances of getting injuries or developing chronic pain. Different types of lower back pain: Lower back pain can result from repetitive injury, activity and some medical conditions.... Back pain can affect people of any age, for different reasons. As people get older, the chance of developing lower back pain increases, due to factors such as previous occupation and degenerative disk disease. Sedentary lifestyles also can set the stage for low back pain, especially when a weekday routine of getting too little exercise is punctuated by strenuous weekend workout. How does it happen: A low back sprain or strain can happen suddenly, or can develop slowly over time from repetitive movements. Strains occur when a muscle is stretched too far and tears, damaging the muscle itself. Sprains happen when over-stretching and tearing affects ligaments, which connect the bones together. For practical purposes, it does not matter whether the muscle or ligament is damaged, as the symptoms and treatment are the same. Common causes of sprain and strain include: Lifting a heavy object, or twisting the spine while lifting Sudden movements that place too much stress on the low back, such as a fall Poor posture over time Sports injuries, especially in sports that involve twisting or large forces of impact More stretches, be active and regular massage can always help you feel better ! 05.01.2022 MONDAY - R O T A T O R - C U F F - D A Y ! The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body. It is possible to misuse or overuse the joint, which makes it very easy to injure the rotator cuff and other parts of the shoulder. People can help prevent injuries by doing exercises to keep the rotator cuff muscles strong and flexible. Most rotator cuff injuries are overuse injuries from repetitive overhead motions.... People who are prone to rotator cuff injuries include athletes who play baseball or tennis and people with jobs, such as house painting or construction, that require repetitive overhead motions. Rotator cuff overuse often leads to rotator cuff impingement, which is the pinching of one of the rotator cuff tendons, or other soft tissue, that runs through the space between the upper arm bone, or humerus, and the shoulder blade, or scapula. Impingement can occur when muscle strain and other overuse injuries cause swelling in the shoulder joint, decreasing the space between these bones. People may sometimes tear one of the tendons or muscles in the rotator cuff, although this is less common than overuse injuries. Rotator cuff tears may be very painful, but most of the time, they will heal with rest and strengthening exercises. Do you have rotator cuff pain, weakness or restrictions?
