23.01.2022 We hope you all had a great week! We’ve had an awesome time watching your little ones learn with us. The weekend means time for us to rest and recharge, but the learning doesn’t stop for children Their curious minds are always observing their surroundings and learning more and more every single day! What do you and your kids have planned for this weekend?

19.01.2022 Making something from a recipe is a rich learning experience. Its a way to make meaning from different types of text as well as explore measurement and numbers. The children at Reggio Academy were able to observe what happens when you add wet ingredients to dry and see that the biscuits are soft before they go in the oven and then come out hard. We looked at the lines on the measuring jug to see where the number 1 is. If 3 cups were needed, we had to fill it to the line 3 tim...es. This is a way of exploring multiplication skills with groups of 'things'. At first the bowl was empty, but then as we added all the ingredients it became full. We also learnt how to say flour, sugar, golden syrup, bicarb soda and seen these words written on the packaging. The children were very enthusiastic and were eager to have their turn being the helper. The children found it so rewarding to be able to taste what they helped create. 13.01.2022 Everything about the Reggio inspired classroom fosters independence and curiosity. The environment is prepared to allow the child to explore concepts for themselves. Over time, children begin to develop a sense of pride in their independent learning. These project-based tasks include exploring complex theories in a manner that can be conceptualised by children. As a result, this is not only empowering for the child, but it also gives them a sense of confidence, ownership and personal achievement
