23.01.2022 A new era in Bundaberg’s premier fun run event, the Cane2Coral, is set to fire up in 2021, with Apex Region 2 taking over the reins from the Cane2Coral Organisi...ng Committee after ten years. Steph Scanlan (Bundaberg), Kaye McIntyre (Fraser Coast) and Tara Spotswood (Bundaberg), travelled to Bargara over the weekend to attend the Handover event to be officially announced as the new management for the Cane2Coral. The event is at this stage going to be ran on the 1st of August 2021 if Covid-19 restrictions allow it. This is a great opportunity as we have been handed a fantastic platform to showcase Apex as an organisation to role model to the younger generations our charitable service work while staying inline with our ideals and invocations. We are very excited for what is to come and looking forward to the event in 2021. See more
21.01.2022 Apex will be back on the BBQ this THURSDAY at the Moura RSL.
21.01.2022 National Convention Update and Call for National Awards 2020 Message from National President, Bethany Paterson. This year’s National Convention will be in Joond...alup, Perth, WA, 9th -10th October. Despite the uncertainty presented by Covid-19, we are still planning to go ahead with Convention, it is not just an important social event, it is our AGM, and Mick and Melinda Godfrey and their team have put a lot of work into organising this so we want to honour their efforts. Should border closures and safety issues prevent interstate travel in the weeks leading up to Convention, then we may need to reconsider our options, but at this stage it is full steam ahead and we thank you all for your flexibility during this difficult time. With the Convention date nearly upon us, it is time to submit your nominations for the National Awards. There are a number of Awards for which your Club can nominate, and you are encouraged to submit nominations for any and all categories. This is a great opportunity to show other Apex Clubs across Australia what your Club has achieved. Apexians are humble by nature and don’t like to blow their own trumpet, but receiving a National Award is a significant acknowledgement of your hard work, so consider submitting as many nominations as you can, you won’t win if you don’t nominate! Information on our awards can also be found on the Apex Australia website under ‘National Awards’ on the ‘Resources’ page https://www.apex.org.au/club-resources. All award nominations are required to be submitted to the National Awards Director Simon Grant at [email protected] by 31st August, saved as a PDF document. For more information please contact [email protected] or [email protected]. Congratulations on your club’s achievements over the past year and we look forward to seeing you and your Award Nominations at this year’s National Convention. Yours in Apex, Bethany Paterson National President
