21.01.2022 BACKING BUSINESS FORUM MEET: WAYNE SUNDERLAND A former Officer in the Royal Australian Navy, Wayne joined the ATO as a GST Field Officer as an advisor to help small businesses.... Wayne was involved in the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme, then the Business Enterprise Centre (BEC), and joined the BEC as a business advisor so he could help all businesses. A business advisor and trainer for 8 years, Wayne then became the CEO for Central NSW Business HQ and is privileged to work with a talented team of advisors who cover 24 Local Government areas. 19.01.2022 TEN4TEN AT THE HIVE On Saturday the TEN4TEN students took part in a lunch with Federal Member for Calare, Andrew Gee MP at Hive Orange. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, the students couldn't visit Australian Parliament House but it was a fantastic day with Minister Gee giving an insight into his career journey and the benefits of living and working regionally.... He also shared his best advice to the students, who have recently commenced Year 12, encouraging them to "follow your passion" and "just have a go!" Over the past six months the students from Orange, Canowindra and Molong have been mentored by ten fantastic leaders from various sectors of the community. ... Despite the challenges everyone has faced this year due to COVID-19, the enthusiasm and engagement from the students and mentors has been impressive and inspiring. Thank you to the mentors who have been involved in the first year of the TEN4TEN Leadership Dialogue and given up their time, provided support and advice and imparted their expertise and insights to the first cohort of students. To the students well done on being selected for the program, but also for displaying exemplary leadership skills and making the most of the experience. 07.01.2022 TEN4TEN TOUR THE DPI The students participating the TEN4TEN Leadership Dialogue recently toured the new NSW Department of Primary Industries building in Orange. Deputy Director General - Agriculture and Mentor, Kate Lorimer-Ward, took the students around the new HQ, and they also heard from a number of other staff members about their roles. ... During the tour Kate explained the different career opportunities that are available through the DPI - including communications, researchers, lawyers, drone pilots and even architects! This was a fantastic experience for the students and comes just weeks after the DPI celebrated 130 years and the official opening of the new building on Prince Street. Mr Donato shared his career story with the students, revealing he started out as a pastry chef before working as a police prosecutor and then entering politics in 2016....
