25.01.2022 Tonight I accompanied Assistant Commissioner Rob McNeil with Inspector Peter Nugent on a visit to 375 Manilla Fire Station where Firefighter Jodie Sing was recognised for her outstanding effort in saving the life of a local Manilla resident who required CPR and defibrillation after he collapsed whilst shopping last month. Jodie’s efforts underpin the value of FRNSW in local regional communities and we are well proud of her efforts and her dedication to the task. Local resident Ivan also attended and thanked Jodie personally for saving his life.

05.01.2022 Today at 11:45 hrs Firies from 375 Manilla were called to a man collapsed at the Iocal IGA supermarket. NSW Ambulance was dispatched from Tamworth (35kms away). Quick thinking by Firefighter Jodie Sing who works st IGA resulted in a great outcome for the patient. Jodie sent a bystander to fetch a defibrillator from the nearby chemist and commenced CPR immediately. Jodie then activated the defibrillator and brought the man back to life. When her crew arrived Captain Ted Tayl...or said the man was conscious and breathing and able to talk. Firies administered oxygen until the AMBO’s arrived and transported the man to hospital. Well done Jodie and 375 crew. The community are rightly proud of your actions. #preparedforanything

01.01.2022 SAFEGUARD YOUR COMMINITY. RECRUITING NOW!

01.01.2022 Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) Commissioner Paul Baxter joined Minister for Police and Emergency Services David Elliott today in officially opening the new $5.04 m...illion Fire Station and Zone Office at Fire and Rescue NSW Station 448 South Tamworth. The new facility in Ringers Road replaces the old station in West Tamworth, which served the surrounding communities for more than 50 years. The modern facility is one of FRNSW's biggest and will allow the 20 permanent and 18 on-call local firefighters to protect their community well into the future. It features four engine bays, an open plan area with eight workstations, a conference room in the Zone Office that can seat over 30 people that can be used as an emergency operations centre and a strike team co-ordination base. It also has a number of sustainability features such as water tanks that run the toilets and irrigate the native plant garden, solar panels, and gender-appropriate facilities such as separate lockers and private amenities. It is also protected throughout the building by sprinklers. Having the Regional North 3 Zone management team also stationed at the new South Tamworth Station will improve Zone-wide coordination for a wide range of emergency incidents, enhancing our services at a local and Zone level. #ProtectTheIrreplaceable #preparedforanything #MoreThanFire
