20.01.2022 As part of NAIDOC Week, our Waurn Ponds Station upgrade team heard from local Wadawurrung Traditional Owner Corrina Eccles about the region's cultural heritage. They walked from Waurn Ponds Station to the Duneed Aboriginal Land Reserve, to learn about the cultural significance of the one-acre reserve site in Mount Duneed. The reserve was established in 1861 and was used by the Wadawurrung (Wathaurong) people at night, as Aboriginal people were once prohibited from staying in the Geelong township after sundown.

16.01.2022 We’re celebrating NAIDOC Week to recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our projects right across Victoria take place on the lands of many different Traditional Owners. We were grateful when the Wadawurrung welcomed us with a smoking ceremony recently to launch the start of construction on the Waurn Ponds Station upgrade earlier this year.

15.01.2022 We’re continuing construction on the Waurn Ponds Station upgrade, with work beginning on a new entrance to the car park, off Sugargum Drive. A reminder that access to Muir Road is still closed, as are the gravel and overflow car parks as we continue to work to build more than 200 new and upgraded spaces at the station.
