25.01.2022 Geoff and Slawko have been at it again - getting stuck into a bit of DIY in the grounds of Regis Sandgate Griffith. The duo have been getting the blueprints and materials prepped to build a 6x4 foot garden shed for the benefit of the Gardening Club and Men's Group. True friendships are built during these projects and we admire the incredible community spirit present across all of our Homes.
25.01.2022 Ken Little has been in the fruit and veg game for over 40 years and were proud to partner with him and his team in Port Macquarie, NSW. We know that all the produce delivered to our local home will be of the best quality and taste for our residents. Ken knows his apples from his oranges, and is eager to help us choose the best fruit and veg for our home. We value our special relationship with local businesses and, now more than ever, are looking at additional ways we can help our communities.

22.01.2022 This week saw a special treat for our residents at Regis Playford. Cheeky, our Lifestyle Coordinator's horse, treated our residents to a much needed visit. Cheeky loves his job as a therapy horse and loves the attention residents give him when they pat, hug and even give him carrots. Cheeky doesn't like apples though... Cheeky is a 22 year-old Few Spot Appaloosa who retired 4 years ago from jumping and dressage. He is loving retirement and loves to visit our home. Our residents look forward to his visits and are looking forward to him returning in December for a Christmas visit where he may perform some steps to a song or two.
22.01.2022 It's incredible what teamwork, dedication and having a meaningful goal can achieve. Our residents at Regis Sandgate Griffith have come together to work on a passion project of theirs - to create their very own garden house and trolley for home grown fruit and veg. Getting involved in projects such as these provide so many positive benefits to our residents. Notably, it's a wonderful way to build strong friendships and engage in interesting conversations.
22.01.2022 Jigsaws have proven to be a very popular activity for our residents at Regis Woodlands, particularly throughout the winter months. Goals have been set and achieved with some residents completing up to 1000 pieces, with others just enjoying the challenge of completing the smaller puzzles during these stimulating activities.
21.01.2022 At Regis, we believe in giving you choice. You can see here our engaged, stimulated and happy Sandgate Musgrave residents participating in a variety of activities. Our Lifestyle Team take the time to find out your interests and hobbies so that they can create a bespoke plan to suit your wants and needs.
20.01.2022 The King of Rock'n'Roll swung by Regis Kingswood for a performance to remember. Our residents got stuck in, singing along to all the classics which they vividly reminisced about. Elvis put on a truly spectacular show, creating beautiful memories for everyone in our Kingswood Home.
18.01.2022 Residents from across our Homes recognised R U OK Day last week, with teams focusing on additional 1:1 time with our residents whilst providing emotional and social support. Remember, theres more to say after R U OK? *Please note, images of staff without full PPE are located in QLD and WA.
18.01.2022 Our Knitting Group at Regis Woodlands has been busy during winter on a project to knit beanies for the homeless. On completion a bus trip was planned to deliver the beanies to the local Salvos for them to be distributed to those in need. They were much appreciated and it was a terrific exercise in keeping our residents connected and contributing to our community.

15.01.2022 Some of our Hurstville residents have been sharing a few jokes amongst each other as they socialised over coffee in the Home. After a few good, bad and awful jokes, our residents thought it would be a beautiful idea to share these with their fellow residents in our Victorian Homes as a gesture of support and kindness. Moments like these are to be forever cherished thank you for your kindheartedness.
15.01.2022 Spring has truly arrived and the native plants in our garden at Regis Woodlands have started to bloom! In their Garden Activity this week, the team chose a variety of plants and involved the residents in arranging a display for the reception desk. Well done to our wonderful residents for their creative input.
14.01.2022 Our volunteer at Regis Sunraysia has been sending in postcards to the residents of places of interest around our local community. The residents have been reminiscing about the old days and how our town has changed over the years. This has been a great idea to keep our volunteers, community and residents connected. Community engagement is paramount at Regis and we love seeing our residents continue to be stimulated and engaged.
14.01.2022 I played snooker and eight ball for about 30 years, winning my final Tasmanian Championship in 2008. In that time, I won many Championships and had the privilege of representing Tasmania in the National Championships on many occasions. Pam Robertson is currently a resident at Regis Tasmania Eastern Shore. Join us as we dive into her past as a professional snooker player. https://www.regis.com.au/snooker-extraordinaire/
14.01.2022 Our Lutwyche Lifestyle Team is enthused by this hearty emotion when it comes to helping to keep our wonderful residents occupied, included and happy. It brings us great pleasure when we see them relaxed or participating in any chosen activity. A simple thing such as creating a useful book marker from scratch, colouring in the images, laminating it and adding a ribbon can feel very rewarding. Small accomplishments and the use of creative elements enable our residents to feel connected and proud of these achievements.

09.01.2022 A few of our eager Lutwyche residents joined in making pom poms to form a colourful wreath of joy to spread happiness around the Home. The residents loved this unique activity and it was a delight to see everyone participating and engaging in something simple, yet rewarding. After the wreaths were finished, our residents joked around by putting their faces through them and asked to get snapped on camera!

07.01.2022 Our Lifestyle Team at Regis Lutwyche have been engaging our residents to find out what respect means to them. We asked them for their own interpretations of this seven-letter word and here is what we found. BJ To be greeted by the staff with a friendly Hello each time I see them, which is one of the important things I enjoy living here at Lutwyche. RM To respect other peoples space and to be nice to each other and not be judgemental.... RA Respect for me is being able to walk around and participate in activities. I respect the staff members in our home and the care, love and support I am given. MN Respect for me is helping me with my daily needs and lifestyle needs. I respect Rose from Nurses Aid and Baby Rose from the kitchen. RB Respect for me is knocking on the door before entering a room. EN Respect for me is to give the courtesy that they deserve and to treat people the same way they treat you. I respect my sister and brother-in-law and staff members. I respect the Lifestyle Team for giving me emotional support.
06.01.2022 The winner in the 2020 Initiative or Innovation of the Year award is Regis Elermore Vale. One of the challenges experienced by residents through Covid-19 has been their limited ability to get out and do a bit of shopping or having their loved ones come into the home to bring them shopping items. The team at Elermore Vale could see the impact this was having on the residents and came up with an idea for a shopping trolley that would bring the shops to their home and allow them to select what they would like. This process involved the residents, their families and the team at Elermore Vale and the success speaks for itself the residents have choice and feel a sense of independence and excitement each time the trolley comes around.
06.01.2022 Our Maroochydore garden is booming with produce so much that our team have had to build another garden bed to fit all the seedlings! Our residents and staff recently harvested some of their delicious radishes and delivered them straight to the kitchen to add to the salad orders. Yum!
06.01.2022 As part of our Cultural Diversity Day, Maria Cufari and Maria DePalma, two of our Italian residents, helped wash and dry olives in the sun for all of our residents to indulge in. The delicious olives were kindly supplied by the Cufari family for this wonderful event. Thank you!
05.01.2022 At Regis Inala Village, there is a very old, large and gnarled Peppercorn tree which is admired by everyone living at the Village. Two of our creative residents saw great potential for the hollow in the tree and, with their creation, we now have an additional unit for rent, but only for a special type of resident The Fairy House has generated great interest and delight amongst our residents. The sign on the door changes monthly and each month we run a competition for the residents to guess the sign on the door.
05.01.2022 In 2020 we have missed our Volunteers and it was exceptionally difficult to decide between Doug and Barb. We have decided that this year will see both Doug and Barb jointly win the award for Volunteer of the Year. The residents describe Doug as a kind man with a great sense of humour and someone they can talk to about anything.
