23.01.2022 Design proposal for a client's beach house: Elwood Residence, Victoria

21.01.2022 Elwood Residence

18.01.2022 The 'Fenner House' designed by Victorian Architect Neil Clerehan in 1964, and described by the architect as his most important work of that period, has been added to the Victorian Heritage Register. With the number of significant mid-century houses that are either being demolished or distastefully renovated, it is great to see an important Architect designed house from the 1960s not only being preserved by it's original owners but also recognised by Heritage Victoria.

15.01.2022 As Architects and Designers, we have a responsibility to help combat climate change. Adaptive Re-Use of our existing buildings, whether it is commercial or residential, is an important sustainability strategy. Adaptation and re-use saves energy wasted in new construction and eliminates demolition waste going to landfill. We need to be more aggressive in encouraging our government leaders and planning authorities in supporting more sustainability and energy policies that will confront this crisis head-on.

10.01.2022 Physical modelling is a staple of both architectural education and practice allowing the designer and client to explore a scheme in plan, elevation and perspective all at once. The physical model aims to stimulate the conceptual spatial relationship between volumes and materials, and understand constructive processes. The making of an architectural model during the early design stage of a project is a way we quickly sketch the essence of an idea and think of the project in its full spatial completeness. 09.01.2022 For the past 6 months Paul has been tutoring in Design and Applied Construction for the postgraduate Masters of Architecture program at the University of Melbourne's Melbourne School of Design. This evening his students presented their end of semester project at the opening exhibition at the Wunderlich Gallery. The student's project was to investigate theory and praxis associated with the design development of a programmatically complex project. The focus of the practical activity was to design and document a tall commercial multi-storey building. Photos attached are from the opening of this evening's exhibition.....

09.01.2022 Regulating Lines now has a creative presence on Bridport Street in Albert Park. A custom neon sculpture hangs in our studio window which forms part of our practice's identity.

08.01.2022 It is with much sadness to hear of the sudden death of Iraqi born British Architect Zaha Hadid. One of the world's most successful and prominent female Architects who was a pioneer for all women working in the Architecture industry, which today is still very much a male dominant industry. She was the first woman to be awarded the Pritzker Prize (architecture's equivalent of the Nobel Prize) in 2004, and the first woman to be awarded the RIBA's Royal Gold Medal in her own right. She shall be remembered as one of the most extraordinary talents of our time. http://www.dezeen.com//zaha-hadid-life-in-architecture-pr/
