20.01.2022 It’s been a little while since we’ve been out on site so it’s nice to get something out of our workshop (which is nearly bursting at the seams) and installed. This is the beginning of a pair of bookcases and a mantle for a home in Sutton Forest which will have a hand painted finish. @ Sutton Forest, New South Wales

17.01.2022 Another year in the books for us here at Reid Brothers and it’s time for a well earned break! Thank you to our wonderful clients this past year and also to all of you following along here. We hope you have a safe, joyous and very merry Christmas and New Years!
17.01.2022 Hello all, just dropping a line to let you know we’re all safe and relatively unscathed. The fires hit here late Saturday night and as you can see it got far too close for comfort to the workshop. Thankfully the combination of preparation and the firefighting efforts by Cam, George and Libby meant both the workshop and house were defended successfully. Thank you for all the messages over the last few days, it’s nice to know so many people had us in their thoughts.
17.01.2022 It’s always so lovely to see the pieces we make in service in their new surroundings. This is the Blackbutt bookcase from a few weeks ago filled and looking magnificent.
14.01.2022 Nearing completion on a trophy cabinet in European Oak for the Bowral Rugby Union clubhouse, adorned with some hand carved tulips paying homage to the club’s crest. Looking forward to seeing it in the clubhouse polished and full of silverware
14.01.2022 A massive day installing wardrobes today for a stunning home in Glenquarry, NSW in the midst of all the chaos. This was one of the three made in European Oak and it is an absolute stunner. We’ll post the others over the course of the next week but for now enjoy ‘Bed 2.’ Stay safe out there!

11.01.2022 Another of the wardrobes made for the property at Glenquarry. This was one of the three painted robes, constructed in wire brushed Hoop Pine and plywood with mesh panel doors. A lovely addition to another beautiful room in this home.
10.01.2022 Finished off what’s been a big week of site work by installing this European Oak Shaker vanity and shaving cabinet for a lovely home in Exeter. Time to catch our collective breath and get ready to go again on Monday!
10.01.2022 A very full workshop currently with this wall unit and Blackbutt bookcase under construction for two homes in Sydney. The MDF/Hoop Pine unit will be a hand painted finish while the Blackbutt bookcase will be finished in clear Polyurethane. There’s also a sharp brass finger pull detail to be added once the bookcase is finished.
10.01.2022 We sent the first of these whopping robes out to their home this week. Constructed from Hoop Pine and plywood which was scrubbed out with a brush before painting. 2900H x 1900W x 650D for some idea of the scale, monsters!
09.01.2022 Our big banquet table was delivered to its home in Exeter on Friday. A stunning space fit for such a beautiful table. We also restored a 17th century English plate rack which partners the table perfectly. Make sure you’re following us on Instagram too! 07.01.2022 Another week spent making big wardrobes has come to an end. This is one of the three Hoop Pine robes nearing completion with work on the Euro Oak robes to commence next week but for now it’s time to enjoy the weekend. 06.01.2022 We’re right back into the swing of things now, starting the year off with this TV unit and seat for clients here in Bundanoon. The lovely warm tones of the Spotted Gum combine with the leather handles and pulls to make a beautiful addition to this space.
06.01.2022 Cam reached deep into his bag of tricks over this weekend just gone. A couple of late finishes; some planing, scraping, bashing, and gouging along with 3 different batches of stain, 2 wash offs and a lovely French polished finish added substantial years of age and character to this Australian Cedar blanket box. This was a 21st gift from Cam to his son Callum, a keepsake that will serve faithfully for many years to come.
05.01.2022 Be sure to get along to the Berrima District Art Gallery to view the Bowral Sculpture Prize between the 29th of Feb and the 8th of March. Cam has expanded his oeuvre from fine furniture into sculpture and has made his debut in this exhibition with his piece titled ‘Struck.’ Hope to see you there over the next week!
04.01.2022 Australia's finest furniture designer/makers will be making their way to Sturt in Mittagong for a beautiful new exhibition, Edge: Exploring Boundaries opening S...unday 16th February at 11am. David Boucher who designs bespoke interiors for Rolls Royce will open this beautiful show which pushes these master craftsmen and women to the very edge of their expert skills and creativity. The same weekend the very best toolmakers in Australia converge on Sturt for the Tools and Techniques Weekend.
