24.01.2022 What's wrong with this picture? Moisture under the glass of the panels is a real issue here and is a common fault with this particular panel brand which was used widely in the GV for 6 & 8 panel solar systems about 10 years ago. Even the lichen growing on the bottom of the panel would be affecting production. I think this system needs more than a routine check.

18.01.2022 Getting the most out of your solar system impacts directly on your electricity bill. No doubt the tree has grown since this system was installed. This system has a DC string inverter which means the 2 x shaded panels would be dragging down the other 7 x panels in the string. If you think a few branches wouldn't make much difference, take a look at the time lapse video on our website. The video is of a microinverter installation where shading has the least impact as all panels work individually. 13.01.2022 This customer reported their solar system wasn't working. Further investigation revealed the cause and why we don't like string inverter solar systems. They require a DC rooftop isolator which tend to do this. The isolator was destroyed, burnt a hole in the roofing iron and was a miracle it didn't burn the house down. Great reason to contact Reilly Electrical & Sunvalley Solar to check your DC solar system annually or even better, we can install a much safer AC solar system using Enphase Australia & New Zealand microinverters.

13.01.2022 Is it worth getting your solar system checked and panels cleaned? Absolutely! Checking your system operation is crucial while dirty panels can be like a permanent cloud cover meaning less solar production. These panels hadn't been cleaned since they were installed some years ago. Lookin' good Nick and Fergus!

12.01.2022 This customer reported their safety switch kept going off at the switchboard. Investigation revealed a white ant nest behind the power point that had most likely chewed the plastic covering off the wiring resulting in the fault. Another win for the value of safety switches in the home.

09.01.2022 It was a big solar week in Shepparton last week when 102 x delegates from Victoria & NSW attended the SEIA victoria (Solar Energy Installers Assoc of Vic) annual conference. Speakers with great content like Blair from WINAICO Australia & David from DPA Solar coupled with live onsite demo's by sonnen batteries & SiteTech Solutions plus all the other sponsor exhibits & speakers were of huge value to our installers . Presentations by the Clean Energy Council , Energy Safe Victoria , Solar Victoria & Worksafe gave plenty of opportunity for face to face Q&A time and topped off an informative 2020 conference with a great vibe. Shootin' the breeze to learn from other small business sparky/installers over a cold one is a bonus. See you all again in 2021!

Brisbane girl Astrid Jorgensen started the idea of ordinary people coming together to sing with a drink in hand which became a huge success. Although singing together in a pub has been put on hold for now, the internet is a wonderful thing and they have still managed to record an inspirational version of The Carpenters "Close to You" with people from all around the world.
