25.01.2022 On Sunday we had the opportunity to talk with Tim Costello about his life and to discuss the shared values that underpin Tim's time in politics and the Reimagining Frankston platform.

25.01.2022 We're on the home stretch now, but we've still got things to say and new people to meet. Check out Claire and Gabriel chatting with the lovely Jenna, who's running for Kingston City Council! Jenna, it was an absolute pleasure to talk with you about our campaign!

21.01.2022 Today is 'extraction day'. Rather than a painful dental procedure or some kind of military maneuver, today is the day that ballot boxes are opened. The AEC election officials open the ballot boxes; separate the declaration slip from the envelopes; open the envelopes and remove ballot papers; and then finally separate the formal and informal ballots. Informal ballots are any that are incomplete or invalid for whatever reason. Candidates are able to have scrutineers onsite for the extraction to ensure that every possible ballot is counted. Democracy in action!

20.01.2022 I (Gabriel) am so impressed with the number of individual citizens who have reached out to me as their local candidate to ask the questions that are important to them. This is a great way to determine who you want to vote for. I am trying to respond to as many of them as I can!

20.01.2022 Celebrating the end of our campaign!!! We are so very thankful for the support of wonderful friends - both old and new - and grateful for the inspiring connections and conversations along the way. It has been good to be involved in this important democratic process We feel we have plenty to celebrate regardless of the outcome...

17.01.2022 Ballots are arriving in mail-boxes! How exciting! Today I (Claire) received a lovely message from a support worker who was helping an elderly client complete her ballot. If there are any isolated people in your life, perhaps you could give them a call and offer a helping hand - no matter where they live? You might even offer to do some research on their behalf?

17.01.2022 Its official!! Our very own Claire Harvey will be representing the people of Frankston for the next 4 years on the Frankston City Council. Its has been such an honour and pleasure for Gabriel and Jay to campaign alongside Claire and we are so excited to see that the principles we stand for are important to the people of Frankston!... Wherever you are in Victoria, you can see the results of your council on the VEC website: https://www.vec.vic.gov.au/re/2020-council-election-results Or head straight to the Frankston results: https://www.vec.vic.gov.au//2020-co/frankston-city-council

13.01.2022 A reminder that your ballot needs to be in the mail by 6pm next Friday (Oct 23). Alternatively, if you're within a 5km walk of the VEC Election Office @ 146 Young Street, why not wander down and drop it in by hand during the week? Any questions? Please email us North East Ward - [email protected] ... North West Ward - [email protected] South Ward - [email protected] See more

12.01.2022 VOTE TO AVOID A FINE! Voting in Australia is compulsory for all elections, including the current local council elections. So get your ballot in the mail by 6pm on Friday 23rd October. Just 2 more days to have your say! (you are also able to deliver your ballot in person to the election office in Frankston by 6pm on Friday 23rd)

11.01.2022 Finally we get to vote! As much as we encourage you to do your own research and make an informed choice about your own vote, we're going to post a few names in the comments below, just to give you an idea of who we'd love to serve alongside, on a newly formed Frankston Council!

03.01.2022 Struggling to figure out how preferences work? This VEC video might help! As much as Frankston City has three vacancies in each ward (meaning that it's a quota system, rather than candidates needing an 'absolute majority') this short video explains how preferences are distributed, and how someone with fewer first preference votes might still end up being elected (actually, this apparently happens in about 50% of cases)! #YourVoteYourChoice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6X5CCnoS-A

02.01.2022 Do you know someone who needs help voting? Someone who doesn't speak English or lives with a disability? The VEC offer support for people who need a little extra help understanding and completing their ballots. https://www.vec.vic.gov.au//le/book-an-information-session

02.01.2022 Have you received your ballot yet for the local council elections? We have had a few concerned citizens contact us to let us know that they have not received their ballots yet. If you have not received your ballot by FRIDAY 16TH OCTOBER, call you local election office. Here in Frankston you can call: (03) 8619 1420 ... For all other councils, check out the listing on the VEC website: https://www.vec.vic.gov.au//2020-local-co/election-offices
