22.01.2022 Buckle Sponsor Spotlight - Youth 14 -18 Yrs BOOROONDARRA / Baker Family - Booroondarra Pastoral Company is based in the Central Highlands about 3 hours north west of Rockhampton. Booroondarra was originally selected in the 1860’s and was a huge station at that time. In 1917 it was surveyed into the current 47,000 acre holding that John’s grandfather purchased in 1925. 2006 saw coal mines take around 30,000 acres which led to the purchase of other local properties to repla...ce the land. Booroondarra Pastoral Company now owns around 50,000 acres across 5 properties and run 5,500 head of mostly Droughtmaster cattle. They breed and grow out bullocks to supply local meat works, and breed quality Droughtmaster herd bulls. The Bakers have always been involved in horses. John’s Great-grandfather (John) had racehorses, his Father (Clarry) did Campdrafting, and the younger generations have done everything from Pony Club, Dressage, Showjumping, Cross Country, Campdrafting, Polocrosse and Stockmans Challenge. John, Marni, Alice and Amelia Baker have been involved in reining for about 10 years. Reining Australia would like to say a very big Thank You to Marni Baker, John Baker & Family for their Amazing and continued support & sponsorship of the 2021 Australian National Reining Championships. The Baker Family will drive approx 1300km to make their way to Tamworth, but it is a journey (and a sport) that they love to be a part of. See more

19.01.2022 Save the Date.......There will be a Competitors & Judges Seminar held on the weekend of the 30th & 31st of January 2021 at QSEC Caboolture. Make sure to not miss out on this very informative seminar which is proudly brought to us by Queensland Reining Horse Association (Q.R.H.A) & Reining Australia Booking details are outlined on the flyer. 19.01.2022 Fun Futurity Fact......That Reining Australia Gold Buckle Futurity nomination, stays with the horse! If a breeder nominates their foal into the futurity but then sells that horse before the futurity takes place, that horse is still eligible. The owner of the horse (at the time of the futurity) does not need to be the same person who nominated it......the nomination belongs to the horse. Just another incentive to jump on board with the Reining Australia Gold Buckle Futurity pr...ogram. When competing I can’t go without my rescue remedy and I’m very fussy about my reins Q10 Is there anything in the sport of Reining you would like to see changed? In Australia I’d like to see more influence or assistance for our up-and-coming trainers (The next generation of pro’s) Once again many thanks to the Southern NSW Reining Horse Association - SNSWRHA for not only bringing us this segment but also for their continued and unwavering support of our fantastic industry.it truly is appreciated. www.snswrha.com.au

10.01.2022 What’s the Go Non-Pro..This weeks edition is proudly brought to us by our Industry Partner. ARBC We’re back for another year of Non Pro promotions and we’ll kick things off by heading to Queensland to catch up with a lady who is very much the quiet achiever. Kathy Boske Q1 What club are you a member of?..............NRHA, QRHA, RA, SQRHA Q2 How many years have you been Reining?................I have been working at it for about 25 years And why did you choose to join the sport?................ Yes My Supper Horse Savvy Husband, and those who know him will agree with me Q10 Is there anything in the sport of Reining you would like to see changed?...................... Yes, let’s make it fun again, cheer on our champions and offer encouragement to those who may need a little lift and remember if you haven't anything nice to say, keep it to yourself. 08.01.2022 Buckle Sponsor Spotlight - Nov Horse NP L2 PACIFIC PERFORMANCE HORSES Christine Bayer & Yves Cousinard established Pacific Performance Horses, PPH in South East Queensland in 2002 to breed and train quality cutting and reining horses and add an international flavor to cutting and reining in Australia. Their program focus’s on accessing the very best US sires for their mares, with progeny from the exceptional horses ‘Wimpys Little Step’ ‘Einsteins Revolution’ ‘Who Whiz It’... ‘Smart Spook’ ‘Sophisticated Catt’, ‘Smart Lil Ricochet & Triple Crown Champion ‘Not Ruf At All’. As Sires are only one part of the genetic equation, PPH mares have been carefully chosen and represent only the very best quality blood lines such as from Wimpys Little Step, Docs Spinifex , Cuttabars Colonel, Smart Peppy Doc, Kings Phillip, Playboy Roy and Proud To Be An Okie. Whilst there are many well bred Australian Sires the international program at PPH will only help improve the genetic gene pool and add to the quality of horses in competition in Australia. The PPH program is selective, focusing on quality not quantity. In this way PPH can provide the best individual care and attention to each horse , encouraging them in either discipline, or as is often the case, in both cutting and reining when this aptitude is apparent. Reining Australia would like to take this opportunity to say Thank You to Pacific Performance Horses for not only their wonderful support and sponsorship of the 2021 Australian National Reining Championships, but also for their ongoing commitment and dedication to the industry as a whole in this country......it truly is Amazing.
