23.01.2022 *taps microphone* This is for the perfectionists out there: youre allowed to suck at meditation. In fact, its one of the few things in life that you really cant fail at. The benefits come when you do it often, not well.

21.01.2022 There is a resilience myth held by many in society that resilience is all about one's ability to bounce back despite adversity, to get back up and dust oneself off in the face of trauma or difficulty. I once shared this misconception around resilience. It wasn't until adversity came to visit as an adult that I began to understand that what I had believed was resilience through childhood trauma was in fact just survival...and yes there's a big difference. Surviving adversit...y can lead to a happy life, many of us are proof of that. But to thrive in life, we need the knowledge and skills to turn survival into resilience, because it is resilience that helps us to thrive irrespective of situation or circumstance. Adversity visits us all at different points in life, and resilience is not about bouncing back or making it through difficult or traumatic experiences, but about one's ability to experience, reflect and GROW through and because of the experience. True resilience never involves bouncing and it's not about getting back to where you were.... true resilience moves you forward of where you were when the adversity struck - it enables you to evolve and grow because of, not in spite of, difficult experiences. 18.01.2022 Its OK to have more off days, its OK to drop the ball, its OK to struggle with motivation and meaning. You know why? You are living through a major worldwide crisis. But right now, we just want to remind you to be how you are - and to be kind to yourself. #inspirationalquote #RealisingResilience

Building a consistent practice of recognising good things in your life is one of the easiest, and most effective, ways to harness it. Hungry for more? 17.01.2022 Athlete Abel Mutai representing Kenya, was just a few feet from the finish line, but he was confused with the signage & stopped thinking he had completed the race. The Spanish athlete, Ivan Fernandez who was right behind, realized what was happening and started shouting at the Kenyan for him to continue running; but Mutai didn't know Spanish and didn't understand, so the Spanish athlete pushed him to victory. When asked why, Ivan replied, "My dream is that someday we can ha...ve a kind of community life". The journalist insisted "But why did you let the Kenyan win?" Ivan replied, "I didn't let him win, he was going to win". The journalist continued, "But you could have won!" to which Ivan replied "But what would be the merit of my victory? What would be the honour of that medal? What would my Mom think of that?" Values are passed along from generation to generation! What values are we teaching our children? Let us not teach our kids the wrong ways to win! Source | The Female Lead #Relativity4

17.01.2022 We don't expect to achieve a healthy physique with just a few trips to the gym...improving mental health is no different. We're experiencing a mental health crisis and organisations need to find ways to ensure consistency of application for their wellbeing initiatives to make a positive and sustained difference. Loading up an intranet with resources can be like living next door to a gym...there's no guarantee people will actually make the time to visit and use the tools, and... as a manager, it can be hard to know how YOU can make a difference beyond just telling your people that you really do value them looking after their mental health. You want to show your team that you value wellbeing (theirs and yours!) but it can feel impossible to find the time to regularly do this when you're juggling the pressures of BAU...unless that is... wellbeing becomes part of your BAU! The Positive Practices Toolkit helps you make wellbeing a BAU item in your workplace, without adding complexity for managers. A series of 24 online micromodules that you simply slot in and play as a 10 minute agenda item in your regular team meetings - this is the wellbeing tool you've been looking for. 15.01.2022 Leadership training programs need to break free of regressive management and financial theories and instead equip leaders to understand what truly drives people and provide practices that can help to optimise human physiology to help leaders perform at their best as well as bring out the best in the individuals in their teams. Well before the extreme stressors of 2020 we were expecting leaders to operate as if their brains were somehow immune to stress and overwhelm. But now it’s clear that we need a new version of leadership and a new breed of leadership trainers!

15.01.2022 In the nonfiction mountain climbing classic Touching the Wind, Joe Simpson and Simon Yates, attempt a first ascent of the west face of Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes. The real story starts on their way down. A storm sets in, battering and blinding them, and in the turmoil, Joe falls and breaks his leg. With just the two of them in the middle of a storm, and night quickly approaching the prospects look grim. They don’t know what to do or the best way down. If Simon t...ries to carry Joe, they might both die. Joe can’t see a way out and thinks this is the end. It’s at this point that Joe explains an important aspect of surviving the wilderness. You gotta keep making decisions, even if they’re wrong decisions. If you don’t make decisions, you’re stuffed." 2020 has been a blizzard for many of us, battering and blinding, filled with stress and uncertainty...we're finding it difficult to see our way out, but we need to keep moving. making decisions and moving. We can change direction when we're moving...but not if we get bogged down and stuck in stress and fear. Be kind to yourself, practice self compassion as you keep making those decisions - large or small, just keep making them. If we keep on moving, we WILL come out the other side of the blizzard that has been 2020.

14.01.2022 The Good News Network recently reported: 9-year-old Kenyan boy has been presented with a special Presidential Award for inventing a handwashing machine that prevents COVID-19 spread. The boys very proud father telling reporters He is always saying he wants to build factories and become an engineer...I hope he does, that he becomes a great person. This young man is already a great person in my books... a beautiful story of how living in alignment with our values and strength...s aligned with passion and action can help make a positive change in the world... and serves as a reminder to all us parents that our children are already great. If we keep telling our children that they will grow to be successful, or powerful, or great, or happy, then it sets them on a path chasing these things. Let's remember to remind them they are already these things and that as they grow, they will find new and varied ways of expressing this. The trick is to know and stay true to our values, look for new and creative ways to use and grow our strengths, and to stay in the moment to appreciate all the good that already exists in it, and in each of us! 14.01.2022 Positive Psychology is not about being happy all the time. All our emotions can serve us in healthy ways at different points in our life - life is a roller coaster of twists and turns, ups and downs and constant change. Our goal in applying positive psychology, emotional intelligence and neuroscience, is to empower individuals and organisations to navigate the inevitable change and range of emotions we all experience in life. Our work helps those who are happy enough, or surv...iving okay, to make positive choices to move from surviving to thriving, but also provides the necessary knowledge and tools to help when we hit the tough times, which we all inevitably do, to not fall as far or stay for as long in the negative experiences or emotions that result from the difficult times that are an unavoidable part of this ultimate ride we call life. 13.01.2022 We sometimes get asked why we decided to call ourselves Relativity4. It comes from a simple yet powerful realisation that nothing is inherently good or bad. At the heart of what we do is a mission to bring you this truth in an actionable way. Relativity4 is relativity for you.

10.01.2022 #PositivePsychology is a tool that we can use to help us thrive. But life isnt alway unicorns and rainbows nor should we try to make it so! 08.01.2022 We get it, life is overwhelming right now. Its OK to feel defeated and its OK to feel like theres no way to catch a break. It can indeed be hard to feel much hope. Its also true, though, that hope isnt just something that happens to you. You can also think of it as a muscle and a skill. At the heart of this is the insight that if a human can learn helplessness, then they can also learn the opposite hopefulness. ... This is the core of positive psychology: humans have a capacity for hope and resilience that can be built upon and strengthened, not just rehabilitated. #PositivePsychology #ScienceOfHappiness

08.01.2022 After an almost two-decade-long career in Sydneys top corporate law firms, Tanya Caldwells world began to fall apart. The life she had spent so long building was crumbling down to the foundations she thought were unshakeable. In the years that followed, she threw herself into rebuilding. But she wanted to do it differently. Tanya hung up her Master of Laws and went in pursuit of a new field of study and qualifications. She steeped herself in positive psychology and neur...oscience. She became obsessed with the question of what makes a human flourish. As she began to apply her new hard-won skills to her personal and high-stakes professional life, Tanya wondered why the practices werent taught and facilitated more as a normal part of working life. Relativity4 was born. As well as the latest tools and techniques in positive psychology and neurobiology, Tanya brings to her programs and keynotes a deep understanding of the stressors (and rewards!) of a demanding job. She also brings her lived experience of healing from significant trauma. #PositivePsychology #ScienceOfHappiness

06.01.2022 Despite having the ‘strength’ to forge a successful legal career and overcome significant life trauma, it wasn’t until I embraced vulnerability that I experienced what true strength really felt like. Was it scary? Yes! Were there times I wanted to put the shields back up? Absolutely. But was it worth it? Definitely. Is it easy? Hell no. As someone who has pulled herself up by the bootstraps time and time again, I know how easy it is to default to the gritty version of stren...gth in which we push down our feelings of vulnerability to ‘succeed’. But this is surviving, not thriving. In the end, the kind of strength that helps us to succeed and thrive, is one that is borne out of vulnerability. Tx
