An alarmingly 50% of people with COPD don’t know they have it and don’t take the necessary steps to control their symptoms and slow down its progress. Symptoms start with breathlessness and a cough and progresses to difficulty running to catch the train or play with young children. They can worsen to a stage where everyday tasks, such as hanging out the washing or walking to get the mail become more and more difficult. 11.01.2022 The new cervical screening test now looks for HPV (which causes almost all cervical cancers), not just abnormal cells (like the Pap test did). This test introduced on 1 December 2017. If you haven’t had a test since then, you’re now overdue. If you have previously had a Pap test, you should have your first HPV cervical screening test two years after your last Pap test. A better test means you will only need to screen every five years after your first HPV cervical screening test. If you're not sure make an appointment to see your doctor to check.
