In the September qu...arter the pace of house price falls moderated and unit prices rose for the first time since mid-2018. In recent months prices look to have bottomed-out. There are several indicators that point to improving conditions across the housing market and the Western Australian economy more broadly. Perth's rental market is tightening, with asking rents rising and the rental vacancy rate falling substantially over the past year. Stronger population growth, combined with a slowdown in new housing construction, is seeing vacant properties being slowly absorbed. Mortgage lending across Western Australia has jumped by 9 per cent in the past three months. The state's economy is also improving, with the unemployment rate falling to 5.7 per cent from 6.2 per cent at the start of the year. See more

02.03.2022 You know, we've been saying and hoping for the past several years that our market had hit bottom and was on the rebound. Well, I'm predicting 2020 will see a turn around in our local market and that listings will fall below that critical 12,000 mark (currently heading that way) and the supply and demand pressure will see people begin to act in numbers. It will only take a small increase in buyer activity and the ball will be rolling. In 2014 our prices were on a par with Sydney's .... we are now at around 60% of their price so there is enormous capacity for growth. If you were ever thinking about buying at the bottom ..., get on your bike!
