23.01.2022 POST No.13 8/12/20 TUESDAY Terry Update: Not Well - Being Transferred to Wyong Hospital. Terry had a setback over the weekend and particularly yesterday afternoon, while I was there from 3.20pm - 7.00pm he deteriorated with high temps 39.1, very sore shoulder and sid e pain. i rang this morning to be told that he was much the same overnight with temperatures going up and down all night. they did treat him with antibiotics last night, tested him for COVID, but when he gagg...ed, and jolted and made the shoulder and side pain so much worse when he flinched with the throad 7 nose swab. Results wont be back until this afternoon, so I had to gown up this morning. I have packed up his room at Berkeley Vale hospital as they suspect he may have got pneumoia again and possible cracked ribs from CPR after telling us at Gosford that he didn't. I have been really concerned that he has been rushed through from coma in ICU to Coronary Care Unit, then to rehab all in under 2 weeks and felt I made the wrong decision in getting him into Berkeley Vale Private too soon. Drs have assured me it was the right time, but this has been a setback and if anything like tthis was to happen they would transport him back to Gosord or Wyong Hospital. So he is on his way in an ambulance now to Wyong Hospital. Once we have some answers I'lll post another update. jI am just so worried about him. Love Deb xxxx See more

20.01.2022 POST No.4 - Terry Update: 22/11/20 9.48pm - DAY 3 GO FUND ME LINK: https://gf.me/u/y9ry7h Some small improvements but also some setbacks with him having pneumonia now and he needed 2 bags blood yesterday sugar was at 22 now down 5.5 blood pressure is now stabilising. I just got home but i lost it myself down there tonight when I saw him shivering with ice blankets as they’ve halved his sedation. But before I left they’ve now taken ice blankets off for good as it’s 72 hours pr...otocol in ICU but they had taken off last night but had to put back on due to temperature spike. I think it finally hit me tonight. I’m ok now it just felt so cruel the way he was shivering and he was like ice to touch and I just burst into tears. Saying they will start reducing sedation slowly as he has been on such high doses they need to bring him down gradually. There was some good news today he was trying to breathe himself so they have turned down breathing machine. Lauren and Phil and Kathy my sister in law saw him and said he looked so much better today so to see him tonight so distressed really upset me. I couldn’t leave until they’d taken the 2nd ice blanket away and was more settled. I’ve never seen anyone shiver so much. So just taking it day by day. I’m exhausted just from so many calls I had to make today. I just want him home with us and to take some time and slow his life down. He is our rock. He has sacrificed so much for his family, missed out on so much due to his very long work hours. He has to come back to us so we can finally rest with him. My beautiful best friends Janice K Santa Maria her partner Tony and Sandra Shepherd and her husband Mike have set up a GoFund me page to help us financially as I’m not working and we live week to week. I was so overwhelmed with this gesture that there are people willing to donate in these very hard financial times that we are all experiencing. The beautiful and thoughtfulness of everyone’s messages have been a godsend and are keeping our spirits high. I’m sorry I have not responded to each and everyone of you personally but when things are settled down a bit I would like to do just that. Thank you is just not enough. The love towards our family has been incredible and I hope the power from all that loves sees Terry home safe and sound very soon. Thank you for being part of lives. Love Deb See more

18.01.2022 POST No.8 THURSDAY 26/11/20 - DAY 7 GO FUND ME LINK: https://gf.me/u/y9ry7h Today we were called in by Intensivist - Head Doctor of ICU and Social Worker. Moving forward they were leaving taking out Terry's breathing tube now until tomorrow, so we are going in between 10am-12.00 noon tomorrow to be there when they do it. He may or may not wake up, but they were preparing us for the fact that he will be in a "delerium" (confusion) and may have some amnesia and short term mem...ory loss for the coming weeks. Nothing is certain until he wakes and can be monitored to see degree of any damage. Although MRI showed no Brain Damage due to not getting oxygen, depending on how he responds will be the ultimate answer. We were also prepared that if he were to have another episode whether heart attack or stroke, wanted to know what did we think would Terry want and what sort of life he could cope with. This was an all just in case so the doctors had an idea of Terry's current lifestyle. If anything was to happen the decision would not only be ours, but a medical decision as well. Phil asked the question about if Terry was in a position to go back to work again, would he still be able to drive a truck, as this will be Terry's first question (being the workaholic that he is). Dr said he would need to undergo medical assessment to establish that, so its not out of the question, but again its a waiting game. We asked about a bit of a time line. If all goes well tomorrow and they can take him off life support/breathing machine/sedation, we maybe looking at another 5 days in ICU. Due to the stroke, he will be placed in the Stroke Ward for possibly another 4 weeks. Then he will undergo rehab, possibly at Woy Woy Hospital for a few months. This broke my heart. I was assuming after leaving hospital he would be home and I would just take to appointments. But he would actually stay in rehab until such time he is well enough to come home. Again, all this is an unknown but as everyone is saying, he will be taken care of in the right place and it would be too much on me to look after him. I just don't know what is going to happen to us. I got all the forms from his super, but doctors will not sign to say he is Total & Permanent Disability and may not be able to do this for weeks, until they know, so that's not helping us financially. We just have to rely on the rest of Terry's leave for the coming weeks. I came home totally drained and exhausted fell asleep at 3pm and woke at 9pm and I just feel lost. I had to at least tidy up all the posts I have made and will make a separate one now for each post I put up so its easier to follow, so thought I'd fix this tonight. So no more news again until tomorrow. Sorry I missed a few calls while asleep. Until tomorrow. Love Debbie, David, Lauren & Phil, Audrey & Olive xxx See more

08.01.2022 POST No.14 - 10/12/20 THURSDAY Terry Update: Multiple Blood Clots on Lungs After being admitted to Wyong Hospital on Tuesday, very unwell, he was treated with IV antibiotics and given Endone for chest/side/shoulder pain. He was given a chest CT scan yesterday and results were back this morning. Although yesterday and today he looks so much better, he has now been diagnosed with MULTIPLE Blood Clots on his lungs. His Dr has taken Plavix (one his thinners normally used to... stop rejection of Heart Stents for the first 12 months and has replaced with another stronger blood thinner (can't remember name he said) plus his aspirin. I got so upset, especially when they said this may have caused his heart attack and stroke, thinking that its going to happen again. They haven't said how big they are, just there are multiple, when I asked how many. He is just so breathless after having shower or doing anything for too long. His oxygen levels aren't too good, but are keeping him on nasal prong oxygen for now. He has had a liver ultrasound this morning and just before 12.00 noon today he was taken for an echocardiogram. Won't get results until later today. Will post laters once these results are in. Love Deb xxx See more

02.01.2022 Happy Mother's Day to my beautiful Mum in heaven. This is my first Mother's Day without you, since I lost you last October 2019 and my heart aches for you everyday. I have been dreading today. I found it so difficult when I was out grocery shopping where I found I wasn't in a position to buy you a Mother's Day Card, the really soppy ones that I always gave you, that had the special words, the pretty pictures and always had to have a bit of glitter or sparkle. Tears came to my eyes not from reading those soppy words this year, but for the fact that you weren't here to give you one. I love and miss you so much. Sending you hugs and kisses. Love Debbie XXX

02.01.2022 POST No.6 - TERRY UPDATE: 24/11/20 TUESDAY - DAY 5 STOMACH BLEED GO FUND ME LINK: https://gf.me/u/y9ry7h... Apologies for no update last night for, but here is what happened yesterday, 24/11/20 Tuesday. On Sunday, Terry had to be given 2 bags of blood, as it appeared he had a bleed somewhere but its seemed to have stopped but doctors didn’t know where it was coming from. They gave him a CT Scan for his head, chest and stomach on Monday 23/11/20 that showed he had a bleed in the stomach (nothing to do with his sleeve or having the endoscopy on Tuesday, all unrelated. It is believed to be from the blood thinners he has been given (anti coagulants). The CT was unable to show any signs of brain damage, which is what our biggest concern is and would require a MRI for this. They were then worried, if he was to continue to bleed, it would be an extremely high possibility that he would bleed out and die from it, if they were to cut him open. As the can’t stop giving him the thinners as again, extremely high chance he would have another heart attack and would not survive having an anaesthetic (even over the next few months), so we had to hope that the bleeding stopped. The only way they could have tried to do anything was do it that same way as angiogram, using dye through arteries, like for the heart they look for a blockage and use a stent to open the vein, with a bleed, they look for the source and then clamp it closed. The trouble is most times they can’t detect where the bleed is. UPDATE ON STOMACH BLEED: 25/11/20 WEDNESDAY Today they happy to say there appears to be no further bleed and that his body will just absorb the blood in his stomach over the next few months. So, they will do nothing. Love Deb
