23.01.2022 My sister pats a dingo in its enclosure at Bunya Park in the 80's
22.01.2022 This footage from the ABC film archives, was taken at Lone Pine Sanctuary back in the late 1930's, another example of things that would never happen these days! I wonder if they have any footage from Bunya Park? Thanks to Thomas James for sharing.
20.01.2022 Here's me at a Bunya Park kangaroo enclosure way back in 1982
19.01.2022 Over 40 years ago Bunya Park was my second home. My Brother and I had Guinea Pigs and whenever they had babies we would take them to the park and they would go and live in "The Old Women Who Lived in a Shoe"...We would get in for free and spend the day roaming amongst the animals. Very fond memories. Many Family picnics were had under the shady areas. Thanks to Debra Mulcair for sharing her memories of Bunya Park.
18.01.2022 Lovely to hear about recent koala sightings at the old Bunya Park site.
18.01.2022 Orphaned joeys were a common sight in our house while we were caretakers at Bunya Park. I remember them sleeping in chair bags like the ones we had at school for our books.
14.01.2022 Thanks to Julie Bignell for sharing this adorable picture of her as a child taken at Bunya Park in 1970.
14.01.2022 The neighboring property to Bunya Park had expansive paddocks, a number of stables and a race track. My family agisted a few horses there while we lived at Bunya Park; a race horse that my Dad trained and a little grey pony that I'm pictured on. I was quite horse-mad at the time.
13.01.2022 We had so much fun at the Kumbartcho Festival today, thanks to Kim & the team for putting on an amazing event!

10.01.2022 Exciting news for residents of Moreton Bay council!
09.01.2022 Thanks to Ann Hughes who posted this picture on the wishing seat with her Mum way back in December 1969.
06.01.2022 Just hanging out near the Bunya Park kiosk back in the 80’s.
05.01.2022 My Mum recently converted some old slides to digital photos so I have a new batch of Bunya Park images from the 80's. It's so interesting to see these old photos for the first time. Here's my Dad holding Wally the Wombat. Mum recalls he was quite a placid creature so didn't mind a cuddle, but was really heavy. My Dad is saying asking her to hurry up in the first photo
04.01.2022 View over the freshwater lake at Bunya Park in 1988
02.01.2022 Here's a Bunya Park souvenir photo all the way from 1969 and in mint condition by the look of it! Thanks to Rachel Lee for sharing.
01.01.2022 It's been a long time since I held a koala, but I got to cuddle a sleepy fellow called Perkins at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary today. Amazingly, it was the first time my Mum and I had ever visited the park. The smell of the koalas brought back a lot of memories and we were very impressed with the enclosures and displays. I know I'll be taking my daughter again soon, maybe next time I'll hold snake.
01.01.2022 As caretaker, Dad was responsible for locking the front gate at the end of each day, preventing road access to Bunya Park after it closed. We often walked to the gate together as a family with my little brother in the pram. My sister is standing at the top of the entrance leading to the carpark, can't believe how high and long it is compared to how the area looks today.
01.01.2022 Come along and check out the Kumbartcho Festival at the old Bunya Park site tomorrow
