22.01.2022 Major Announcement The current escalation of the COVID-19 situation in Australia and ongoing restrictions on public gatherings to limit the spread of the vi...rus has led us to postpone L’Étape Australia by Tour de France. The restrictions are there to protect riders, supporters and the local community, which is of paramount importance to all of us. In consultation with key stakeholders including the NSW Government, the decision has been made to postpone the fifth edition of L’Étape Australia by Tour de France to Friday 19 and Saturday 20 March 2021. The event location, the routes and timings are intended to remain the same. Riders already registered for the event are automatically transferred to the new date and don’t need to take any further action. Riders unavailable at the new date can request transfer their registration to L’Étape Australia in December 2021 or November 2022, or a refund via the online form available here https://letapeaustralia.com/postponement/ L’Étape Australia by Tour de France is the only Tour de France event in Australia and provides amateur riders with the closest experience to riding in the Tour de France an amateur cyclist can get. The event also generates a significant economic boost for its host regions, and riders are invited to visit Kiama, the Shoalhaven and the Southern Highlands on an individual basis to support local businesses in their recovery from the bushfires and the Covid-19 crisis. For question and enquiries, please visit https://letapeaustralia.com/postponement/ or email [email protected].

18.01.2022 We are sorry to have to pass on the news that due to COVID-19 restrictions there will not be a public service at the Wall of Remembrance this year for Police Re...membrance Day. We know how much this means to so many of you, and we are truly sorry that you will not be able to stand among friends, family, and colleagues, to honour the memory of those that have passed. But the day will remain sacred to all of us, no matter where we are. We will never forget. See more
18.01.2022 Our intrepid cyclist Anthony new will be completing his 4000km ride from Fremantle to Sydney. Come on down and show your support for this fantastic achievement. This was all done in an effort to raise money for Pam a dear work colleague of Anthony who while on his ride has sadly passed away while battling Cancer. His effort will not be for nothing as all the money he has raised will still go towards Pams family in this difficult time. Hope to see you many of you there.

16.01.2022 Morning race fans. As our duty of care, we will be cancelling racing today given the current air quality issues with the fires and smoke. The current air qualit...y has just hit 186 here at Eastern Creek, visibility is poor also. With the temps scheduled to hit 39, please keep hydrated and indoors, if you feel any adverse effects with your health today please get it checked. Hopefully we will be back next week at the Dragway. Regards Brad Hooker
16.01.2022 The 3 day ride of Remembrance coming soon.
15.01.2022 The BAM and Marconi team has formed up again for this year’s remembrance ride to Canberra from Sydney. If you can spare some change we would really appreciate your support to raise some money for this worthy cause. We have a number of police officers amongst our ranks of cycling clubs who do a very dangerous important job to protect us and our communities. Thanks in advance for your generosity. https://portal.policelegacynsw.org.au/my-fundr//bammarconi

14.01.2022 Well done Police Legacy Victoria and it’s members for a great initiative.
14.01.2022 In these troubled times, remember there is good and bad in any family, but the overwhelming majority is good. Keep those safe who keep us safe.
13.01.2022 Great article about one of our own Marconi members who rode for his friend Pam. He made the cover of the Police Legacy News.
11.01.2022 With permission from Brad Hooker the Club Secretary of Marconi Cycling it’s my sad duty to inform you all that Peter Ryan lost his life on Saturday morning due to an unfortunate accident during a popular bunch training ride. The Remembrance Cup team wishes to acknowledge Peter Ryan for his support of our cause by not only competing but also as one of our valued sponsors at the 2018 Remembrance Cup. Peter that day also managed to take top honours winning in his Men’s Division.... Peter raced for the Avantias Pro Race team previously who were also a very generous Sponsor so in one form or another Peter has demonstrated his support for our cause. The Remembrance Cup Cycling Classic shares its deepest Condolences to the family, friends and teammates for their loss. May he Rest In Peace. Below is the official notification from Marconi Cycling Club.
10.01.2022 Have a go everyone. We can’t race, ride or hold functions to raise money so this is the next best thing.
10.01.2022 One of our fantastic supporters doing special things for not only the Police family riding and competing in the Remembrance Cup every year but also raising money for sick kids. Throw him a few dollars if you can spare the change for his efforts.

09.01.2022 Imagine working for the same employer for 60 years. Interesting story of a cop born into the job literally as he was delivered as a baby on the floor of a western NSW police station.
09.01.2022 2 June 2020 is Thank a First Responder Day We take this opportunity to say thank you to our members, the first responders who protect, defend and care for our c...ommunities every single day. No other year in recent history has tested us quite like 2020. Not even half way through and the unprecedented events that have already taken place have certainly tested us all. The incredible work you have done and continue to do to protect our communities has never been more important. Thank you #TAFRD #firstresponderday #thankafirstresponder

05.01.2022 Truely inspirational
04.01.2022 Welcome home. Your family will look after you forever more.
03.01.2022 Bit of nostalgia. It should ring true even today ...
03.01.2022 A message from NSW Police Legacy. , Your wellbeing is our main concern. We want to do all that we can to ensure your safety, and the safety of all of our friends and family, during this time of uncertainty brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.... We are therefore acting on the latest Australian Government advice and postponing all our events until 10 May 2020. This includes the Remembrance Bicycle Ride and the Kokoda Trek. All Local Area Lunches around the state until that date have been cancelled. We have not reached this decision lightly, but we take our responsibilities very seriously. It is the duty of all members of the community to do what we can to slow the spread of this pandemic, and to not put anyone at risk. The situation is changing rapidly, and we are following all the updates. By the end of April we will re-evaluate our position, and keep you informed about events for the rest of the year. These are strange times. There's no doubt about that. But the good news is that we're all in this together. And together we are stronger than any one of us alone. Just because we've cancelled some events doesn't mean we’re not here for you. Already our Community Support Team have started reaching out to our older Police Legatees to check in and to offer extra support. If you need help, or if you know somebody who does, please get in touch. And if you're not connected with us on social media, perhaps now is the time. We can't chat over a cup of tea, but we can definitely chat online. Reach out. Let us know how you're doing. Together, we'll come through this. Last Saturday, before we knew for sure it was going to be postponed, we went on a Kokoda training walk in the Blue Mountains. Everywhere we walked there was evidence of the bushfires that have only just been extinguished. But what we also saw was all the new growth coming through, green and full of hope. These are strange times, but there is always light on the other side of darkness. , .
02.01.2022 Register your interest ASAP. Places will fill up fast.
02.01.2022 Please share with your fellow cyclists
02.01.2022 Each year, the 29th September holds a special significance for Police throughout Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and the Solomon Islands. It is a day for police to pause to honour officers whose lives have been cut short while performing their duty as a police officer. This important day is also a time to remember police officers who have lost their lives through illness or other circumstances. If you would like to help us make a difference please donate by c...licking on the link below. https://portal.policelegacynsw.org.au/my-fundr//bammarconi We are riding the only event this year in memory of those who have been lost to the police family. We will ride 100km on Sunday the 15th November in their memory.
