Our incursion and excursion sessions are running as normal and don’t forget to book early for your science and book week events in 2022. ... Thanks to everyone who has supported the development of the REmida-verse and we look forward to seeing our shared Universe expand over the coming months. Check out remidawa.com for more information. #repurposedwithpurpose #theremidaverse #educationwithremidaperth

19.04.2022 It was great to have the Team from Sparrow EL Swanbourne, they came up with some amazing creations, the pics really don’t do them justice.

13.04.2022 This morning, we were excited to make a trip to REmida to gather new resources for our educational program. Sustainability and Caring for Country are important ...values in our Centre's philosophy and we value the opportunity to use recycled and re-purposed resources in our play spaces. Eloise, our Kindy 1 Team Leader, shared that she loves how REmida inspires educators to be creative in the ways that they re-use materials. We also embrace the possibilities that loose parts offer children in their learning, creating space for imagination, innovation and new ideas. We would love to hear about the re-used materials that your child likes to use and explore. Please feel free to share in the comments below.

05.04.2022 We are lucky to receive seedpods, nuts and other native plant materials from APACE WA. They operate a community seed bank and are licensed seed collectors, so these are precious items our members would otherwise not be able to access! #MaterialsMonday #Collaboration #APACEWA #Remida #RepurposedWithPurpose #CreativeReuse #Sustainability #SustainableCraft #SustainableArts #WasteNot

25.01.2022 BTS Wednesday and we are celebrating our suppliers! This is Pete from Superstars Framing & Memorabilia who supplies us with colourful matboard, foamcore and frame moulding. Thank you for being a REmida Champion and helping us to divert useful resources away from landfill.

24.01.2022 BTS Wednesday we are sharing an interview from REMida in Reggio Emilia, the home of the REMida international network. Eloisa di Rocco, atelierista in charge of the REMIDA in Municipality of Reggio Emilia, managed by Reggio Children Foundation in Italy.

23.01.2022 #materialsMonday is a repeat material post! We just had a restock of untreated pine in a range of shapes and sizes. Pictured is a contemporary sculpture entitled: That Was A Lot of Wood To Move.

23.01.2022 #materialsMonday though we do not usually include paint in our workshops, we have been accumulating some donations over the past year. We utilised them while delivering in-house workshops. Our artists were very prolific!

23.01.2022 What an amazing week its been, special thanks to Samatha Rowe MLC, Lotterywest and the team at REmida for helping to bring the Materials in Dialogue project to life.

21.01.2022 BTS Wednesday - The Great Rumble Yeowie Unwrapping!

20.01.2022 #materialsMonday again with this insightful image. Here is a stack of 100 discs alongside the waste materials generated during processing. This goes to show why we request all donated discs are provided without the packaging. While we do offer some of these packaging items for collection, the values generated are just too great, and would occupy too much of our floor space.

20.01.2022 It is such an honour to be a part of the international network or REMida centre.

19.01.2022 Dear Community Just a REminder that we are closed this Thursday for our end of month PD and materials restock day. Happy collecting, stay safe and well see you Wednesday and Friday as normal.

17.01.2022 The City of Stirling Share-Tree Christmas Project facilitated by REmida Perth. The Share-Tree Christmas project brings people together to make Christmas themed decorations from repurposed materials that will then be displayed on a tree, the Share-Tree, designed and built by the team from REmida. A series of maker sessions will be held in the City of Stirling, details to follow soon, with an initial maker session to be held as part of REmida's open day this Saturday the 28th ...of November. Togetherness has taken on a new meaning thanks to COVID, but there is still room to celebrate by making something beautiful that everyone can enjoy.

12.01.2022 #materialsMonday! Does anyone have a project needing significant amounts of wood? We may have a new supplier who can make this possible!

11.01.2022 BTS Wednesday - The Last Yowie. Back in 2017 REmida made an interesting collection: 15 000 expired yowies. This translated into quite the processing task, reclaiming 75 000+ usable resources in the form of capsules, trays, coloured foil and of course the toys. The packaging was broken down into components and sent to recycling. We even managed to have 72kgs of the chocolate composted! What is inside Rumble? Review the list of possibilities and make your guess. We will be posting a reveal in coming days.

11.01.2022 Today was the start of our Materials in Dialogue arts workshops! Special thanks to Lotterywest for making these sessions a reality. Here are some pics from our colour explorations today.

02.01.2022 We are looking for volunteers to help us with our JellyFish plastics project, a REmida Perth initiative to turn colourful plastic lids into recycled plastic shapes such as those hexagons in the photo. While we are making progress using our plastic shredder and injection machines, we still need to do some testing and modifications to utilise those machines to their full capability. Please get in touch if you are interested in helping us with our machine development.

02.01.2022 Special thanks to our volunteer collectors, material sorters and all around champions for making experiences like this possible.
