But there is no version of this that is failure. Any thing we try is a success simply because we tried. It’s the trying that counts, the attempt, the effort. We are only responsible for the decision we make, and we always make the decision at the time we feel is best. The outcome is variable and not our fault. 08.01.2022 We need to do better with this one. One of the most common responses to an expression of emotional discomfort is "don't feel that." I'm sad > > > Don't be sad...! I'm anxious >>> Don't be scared! I'm angry >>> Don't be mad! Sometimes we say 'don't feel that' directly, but a lot of the time we soften the same message slightly with responses like: I'm sad >>> But you were fine before! I'm anxious >>> There's nothing to worry about! I'm angry >>> Calm down! Responding to emotions this way does not help. Telling someone not to feel the big or difficult emotion they are ALREADY FEELING is ignorant and useless. All this response does is create opportunity for extra layers of difficult emotions like shame, confusion and lonelines. Emotions are not decisions that can be made, or switches that can be flicked off and on. Emotions are a complex state of feeling in response and reaction to complex environmental stimuli. If you want to help someone tolerate and move through a big or difficult emotion (that, by the way, is generally just as unwanted for them as it is for you), for goodness sake please acknowledge it. Hear it. Name it. Validate it. Welcome it. Normalise it. Let it exist. This is what helps. . .

02.01.2022 You are enough. This is not just a feel good platitude. It also doesn’t give people an excuse to settle, to not change, to think they have it all sorted and can justify anything because they’ve somehow made it. This is truth. ... When I work with people, the main lie nearly every time is that they are unworthy of love because they are not enough. The truth is they are enough. Just as they are. Enough to be loved just as they are. They need to start with believing this truth so they can rewrite their whole identify towards freedom. It’s not saying therefore don’t change, or you’ve made it and don’t need to continue doing the work around improving, because there’s always more to do, more to seek, more truth to discover. So when I say ‘you are enough’, I’m saying that you are enough, as you are, to be loved, so you can begin to see yourself as you are, as you are made to be. I find, in holding this truth, around being enough, people always want to keep growing into the more: more truth, freedom, peace and love. It can’t come from a negative self belief of ‘I am not enough’ because within that lie the lie has a field day. This just reinforces the lie foundation. The ‘enough’ is accepting of self now, so you can find the confidence to work with what you’ve got and where you are towards the more. Everyone needs to start from this truth. And the truth is You are enough, enough to be loved, as you are. When you believe this, you’ll always find the more.
