20.01.2022 What a week, we have been busy prioritizing our elderly customers in these changing times ensuring they have everything restored and in place. Now it's the weekend we recommend grabbing a book from your local Aussie owned book shop, opening a bottle of great Aussie wine from Pittwater Wines and relaxing in your recently restored favourite chair. We can help you with all your restoration needs, antiques, moderns and retros and also sell our beautiful old fashioned Restorer hand made by us that you can use at home to freshen up your furniture, it cleans and revives. 16.01.2022 Through these last few months we've been restoring some beautiful furniture, one being this petite ladies desk. A few missing timber trims were replaced, some polishing of the original brass hardware, nourishing of the original leather writing surface and a clean, revive and wax. It has an interesting history as the maker's mark is visible on the drawer, made by W. Walker & Sons at their Steam Cabinet Works in Bunhill Row London who opened a branch in Sydney in 1881 after successfully exhibiting their elaborate chimney pieces in the Sydney International Exhibition in 1879. It is a wonderful family heirloom with a well travelled past and enjoying a much cherished future.
