16.01.2022 UAVs can capture images to be analysed by a range of software. For example the image below on the left shows an area that has been processed using Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). NDVI is a basic model of plant health for that area. The image of the right is a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of the same location. DEM gives comparative elevation for an area against a set reference point. The two images can be analysed together to better understand a crop for example and help a farmer understand why it grows the way it does.
